US Open

US Open, Flushing: Address, Phone Number, US Open Reviews: 4.5/5

About
Each year in the week before and after Labor Day, all eyes in the tennis world are on the USA for the prestigious US Open tournament. The last of the four major international events in professional tennis, the stakes are high, particularly if any home court players or teams are closing in on a 'Grand Slam' win at all four events. Ticket prices run up into the thousands for the most coveted seats, but for a die-hard fan, it is worth it for the chance to see the top athletes in the sport up close.

Worst of the Grand Slams by miles
Sep 2021
I wish I could say just one good thing about this event but I can not . The main reason that it is so bad is that they first sell tickets to American Express cardholders and to corporations as cmpared to Wimbledon and the Australian Open where they give preference to members of tennis clubs. The crowd knows nothing about tennis and behaves as if at a baseball game or a college football game. People who have not reserved seats move into the reserved seats and take seats of other people. There are virtually know escalators and elderly people can not manage the hundreds of steps and more than 70 of all food and drink outlets are devoted to beer and vodka sales. Wifi works inside the grounds but not well at the entry gates so people with telephones from other countries have problems with entry because they prefer that your pass is on your phone.
I strongly recommend anyone elderly or a bit disabled to give this event a wide berth.

US Open Tennis Rocks
Sep 2021
Have been to the US Open many times and this year was particularly good as the number of attendees was down slightly (due to the circumstances) and as such the ticket prices/accessibility were very reasonable. I love tennis and am a lifelong player but I brought a friend with only a mild interest in tennis and he had a great time as well. Day or night matches are equally good but there is a little extra energy with the night matches. Definitely worth checking out.

Amazing time wasting money ! Great !
Sep 2021 • Friends
Great place to throw away your hard earned money !
Also a great place to have your expensive seat taken by someone in the upper decks if you leave it !
No enforcement of seat assignments at all - just pay for the cheapest seat and take someone else’s $400 seat if you please !
Pay $20 for a $2 pizza the size of your hand and $15 for a watered down drink with 3/4 ice in it !
Amazing time !

US Open is an event for the ages. And some years, the matches rise to the level of global sporting events and set the city ablaze is excitement over the competition and results. Legendary.

I have gone to eight (8) U.S. Open tournaments!
Aug 2021 • Friends
I went to many U.S. Open tournaments from 2006 to the present. The admission prices vary based on when the game is scheduled. I have always met fans from all over the place, and this is definitely a dream event for someone who either plays tennis or for anyone who is heavily interested in it. I love the chance to watch tennis champions play aggressive and competitive games. These tennis professionals really have a lot of endurance! I always buy T-shirts, and I sometimes buy foods and drinks despite the prices being steep, in my belief. There are good views in the stadium even from higher up. The security line during the pandemic to enter was very long and inefficient, and in my opinion, it was very poorly run. Thus, people should give themselves quite a bit of time to arrive before the game. The park is also nice to walk around, because one can see quite a few destinations (like the Unisphere and the fountains) other than Arthur Ashe Stadium. One should be prepared to park in a lot or on a nearby street; it is also possible to take a subway.

US Open Opening Day 2021
Aug 2021 • Couples
Opening day was completely understaffed for arrivals. We came off 7 train and they didn't have anyone directing to proper lines. We stood in guests with bags line while watching others stroll past with bags then cutting in line further up. Must have signage or directions closer to MTA exit & add screening stations! We've attended in 2017 & 2019 but never encountered what we experienced yesterday. Not the way you want to start your experience.
They also need to play video numerous times about when to move about your seats. Staff did not manage that well either with people moving in the middle of serves and points. I NEVER have seen such rudeness to others trying to watch the matches.

Love tennis? Got to go here
Aug 2019
If you love Tennis, US Open is one Grand Slam you have to visit.
Compared to other Grand Slams, this one is more easy on the pocket.
It is well connected and has everything on the grounds. The food, the drinks and the atmosphere. Perfect.

The stadium is also amazing. The seating should be chosen well else you will not enjoy the matches. Would suggest not to take sides or behind the player seats. Take seats on the corner, and mid way in height. They should be around $125

Must do:
If over 21, do try their US Open Special drink (Honey Deuce: raspberry drink with vodka)
Do get souvenirs from their main store below Billy Jean King Stadium
Buy Tickets for Arthur Ashe Stadium, but do venture out to other stadiums between matches. You might just see some amazing upcoming stars.
Be there early as security is tight. You would not want to miss a match.

Stay in NY City, and take the weekly pass for the Metro. Best way to travel. Keep an Umbrella handy.
Cameras allowed, but not big lens.

Great experience and well run
Aug 2019
The US Open is very well run with plenty of bathrooms located around the stadium and food areas. Plenty of seating too. The food is expensive which is to be expected and they do allow one to bring in your own food. An example would be the
Curry Chicken (at Arthur Ash stadium) and the Lamb curry which was $16 with 2 pieces of lamb.

Arthur Ashe Stadium area 329 and 330 and surrounding area are in the shade at noon. This is good to know so that you aren't baking in the sun, nor squinting at the players.

Bring your own water bottle for the hydration station. There are not many and the lines are long to fill up your water bottles.

Doesn't get much better!
Aug 2019
I am 50 years old, have been playing tennis since I was 4, and have worked with tennis (mainly collegiate) for the past 30 years. But I had never been to the US Open until this year. And I was not disappointed.

It was the second major I had been to (attended Wimbledon in 2008) and both certainly have their pluses. Wimbledon has the tradition-rich history, the grass and the English reverence. The US Open has Americana, hard courts, night matches and excitement.

Our entire experience was outstanding - from the process of getting out to the grounds each day from Manhattan, to entering the facility, the courteous staff and certainly...the tennis. Hope it doesn't turn out to be our only trip but we certainly feel like we checked off a major bucket list item with our visit this year. Every tennis fan should see it at least once in their lifetime!

Fantastic!!!!
Aug 2019
Everybody was happy in the Billy Jean King Center; great facilities; the 3 Stadiums are expectacular; the small courts let You watch really close all the players. The practice courts also let you get closer to all the players, coaches and even get the chance to get pictures with them and autographs. Great place not only for tenis fans as all people from all ages have amazing time here.
