We stopped here to visit the wife's parents graves. It is a very well maintained cemetery with lots of trees and walking paths. It is also the final resting place of Samuel Clemens ( Mark Twain ).

I have lived here for almost 40 years, but only recently with the social distancing, have spent lots of time walking here. Fascinating! Esp the many deaths from the year 1918, spanish flu. I was excited to find graves from revolutionary was era right under pine trees near the walnut st entrance. The memorial sculptures are beautiful and striking, take your time and enjoy!!!…

A beautiful cemetery! Stopped in while I was in Elmira for the day. Of particular note are the graves of Hal Roach, creator of the Little Rascals, and director of Laurel and Hardy’s early films, and of prolific American writer Mark Twain, norm Samuel Clemens, and his wife and family. Well worth a stop to pay tribute.…
