The wife was nervous at first but once up in the air that changed she said the ride was comfortable quiet and beautiful. Tom her pilot was great explaining the workings of the plane and the sights of the valley below. Highly recommend the trip. Again thanks Tom the pilot and the rest of the staff for a great trip.

Sometimes flights will be delayed or canceled due to weather conditions. If delayed, no worries! It is greatly worth the wait! The nature and beauty of the flight experience can be easily observed by the instructors and staff, who are eager to pass their love of flight onto you! An amazing experience! I was there as an observer, but next... More

Our family of five adults chose Harris Hill Soaring as one of our destinations to celebrate the 75th birthdays. Only one of us had flown before (in 1972) so the flights generated much excitement long before our arrival. We were advised to arrive early just before 10am to avoid waiting in line and the opportunity for a smoother ride. We... More

Did this 5 years ago here before I joined the Army and had a lot of fun. Someone there heard my brother was a Marine and he got to fly for free. Guides/pilots were very helpful and the views were beautiful. Even saw bald eagles off the wing tips. On the ground some guy wasn't the nicest, but it was... More

Ventured there again with beautiful weather and a clear view of the Chemung Valley. This is a DO NOT MISS if one is in the area. It is the glider capital of the Northeast. It has glider rides able to purchase, several competitions during the year with a amusement park,3 hole golf course, swimming pool and picnic area near by.... More

This is the epicenter of soaring in the USA. The airport hosts many soaring competitions during the year, and during the summer does public glider rides. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The prices for the rides are less expensive than expected. However, be prepared to be patient; I visited during the first week of their operating... More

Harris Hill is the glider capital of the northeast. The Soaring Center sits at the top of Harris Hill which lover looks the Chemung Vally and Chemuch river in Big Flats, NY. It's a beautiful spot to visit with a driving range, swimming pool, putt-putt course and childrend rides. It's a wonderful place to hold a family outing or just... More

I had a fantastic glider ride as a birthday present! The crew on the ground were extremely welcoming and professional. Glider flight is so elegant, with the only sound being the rush of the wind around the plane. This made it really easy to communicate with my pilot, Rob, about what we were going to do. I learned a whole... More

Had my first Glider Ride Saturday with Moe as my pilot. It was outstanding. Moe went out of his way to explain soaring, piloting the plane, and let me take a brief turn at flying the Glider. It was a fantastic experience. In the fall, the operation is run by volunteers on the weekend. Most of them are pilots and... More

I purchased a gift certificate for a glider ride for my fiance for his birthday. We arrived and were told he would be going up in the glider in 20-30 min. We waited after 30 min passed we were told he's next and will be going up. Needless to say we ended up waiting well over a hr and a... More
