Good driving range and pro shop
Nov 2016 • Solo
Big Oak isn't really a "family entertainment area" as much as an old-fashioned golf driving range where you can work on your game with the added benefit of seasoned golf-pro instructors. It isn't fancy, and there are no miniature golf courses on the grounds. But it is a nice range, and the pro shop (and folks who work in there) are also great. I do recommend this place, especially later in the year after some of the other ranges have already shut down.

Whether you're a novice or expert, Big Oak is a great driving range with personable staff. This is a convenient, no-frills place that won't break the bank. Enjoy!

It's not crowded and the buckets of balls not too costly. The shop was clean. It's not tied to a golf course which is a plus because you're not rushed.

I went to demo days in the cold and driving rain - my only time I could get there. Still probably 100 people there. Vendors help you select and try any club. Not pushy for their product. Their staff worked alongside vendors to ensure you were being taken care of. Hit as many balls as you like. I did and wound up getting five new clubs and a bag. The prices could not be beat online. Hot dog and coffee helped beat the cold. Great selection and staff. A good experience.

Decent for a driving range, not much else though besides the pro shop itself

Big Oak is a decent place to go and shake the rust off your golf game, although there isn't much to do there besides hit golf balls and perhaps take a lesson. They have a lot of tees from the mat-on-concrete pavilion, but there is no place to hit off of grass, if that's what you want to do. They do offer lessons there, and the pro shop is pretty extensive. However, that's about all there is to do there. So if you only want to sharpen up your game, have at it...this is your place. But it can get quite busy, and there isn't much else to do there. Very conveniently located!
