This location combines relaxation with a museum-like experience. Can go for a boxed lunch, picnic, plus see their veterans memorial in addition to numerous special events. Once in the park the hustle & bustle disappears and you are surrounded by nature.

No comment. I really dont think it's fair that in order for me to book a room, I must write something, when if I couldn't write, or was an elderly person who just didn't have the enedgy.

We visited here in March and were impressed with the things to do in late winter at the park. The playgrounds were open and clean which was nice for the kids. We took a walk around the pond and saw all of the geese. There...More

While parts were closed due to high waters, we found only camping sites to visit. We paid $5.00 per person to drive in and out in about 30 minutes. Left there and drove to the Eisenhower Dam, which was more interesting but smelly.

This park is very easy to get to in Nassau County. We go after work during the week to avoid the weekend crowd. It has a theatre that would have live concerts (occasionally) through out the summer months and folks can bring their chairs, blankets...More

I suggest you telephone the park office. I was just a visitor to the park. I have no idea of what fish are in the pond or if fishing is even permissible.
