The Bookhampton has a small but nice dejecting of book titles to pick from when you are out in the Hamptons. I still find reading a “book” versus a tablet much more relaxing.

Needed a new book for the beach on Sunday night and to my surprise this lovely bookstore was open at 8:30 pm. Great suggestion cards and inventory.

Here is an acid test for a book store. Send in your kids and see what they pick up. So far so good. Now. Check back in with same kids AFTER bedtime. What are they doing? Mine? They are a pair of 7-year old twin boy and girl. They are reading the books that they picked up after browsing the childrens' section at Bookhampton in Southampton, NY. I 100% get online reading. That said, nothing beats the real-time experience of a child discovering or recognizing a title, an author, or another installment of a series, on a shelf, in real-time, in a bookstore (with the latent promise of ice cream at Sip N Soda down the street). To the above, I can only add that as an adult I've been a patron for 10+ years and rarely leave without finding some new title or author that expands my horizons. Kudos to the buyers at Bookhampton! I proudly display my Bookhampton bookmarks wherever I go. (Small world story: someone once recognized my Bookhampton bookmark on the maglev train heading into Shanghai!)

Decent bookstore, one of three in Southampton and Sag Harbor, not counting old books, etc. Decent selection,
knowledgeable staff, list price on almost anything. For list price and not to go to Amazon, I need a great staff who will recommend a great book to me. Haven't had that experience. Good place to brouse.

An incredible neighborhood bookstore with a very well curated selection of books you will need to read. Go and support and get a book everyday. You brush your teeth everyday???

Bookhampton is a awesome local bookstore in East Hampton. We went in looking for a book for my son and they had a huge selection of kids books plus adult. They had a some great finds and definitely worth a visit when in the area. Everyone needs a book on vacation or on the beach! Buy it here since they will direct you to something great that you may have never heard of before.

A great traditional "Book Store" something that is fading away with the age of technology , a family owned business such as mine which is one of the few remaining here in East Hampton - they strive on having great books as well as those hard to find reads. God Bless and may they keep going strong .

I love an independent book store and Bookhampton does not disappoint. Skip the fancy boutiques and spend a little time browsing their shelves. Great poetry section, too.

Happened upon this store on stroll through downtown. Attended a Chelsea Clinton book singing of her new children's book "She Persisted". Good inventory and as mentioned in the title, very friendly staff.
