About
Opened in 1930, as one, small shop, Vidler's has grown to become the largest 5 & 10 store in the world! Today the third generation of the Vidler family runs the store which has become a local landmark and destination point for shoppers near and far. A great place for the entire family and out-of-town guests, we are an old fashioned five and dime store, and so much more! With 2 levels occupying 4 connected, 19th century buildings, our many counters overflow with a wide variety of merchandise. From nostalgic candy and toys, kitchen gadgets and crafts to the newest items for the recreational shopper, our distinctive shops feature gifts, home decor, jewelry, candles and seasonal decor. A one-of-a-kind shopping experience awaits you at Vidler's, located on East Aurora's historic, red-brick Main Street.

    Something for Everyone
This store has been in business since 1930. It’s nostalgic for the older crowd and the younger kids ….loved it. (Ages, 10,13,15) Everyone left with either food or a gift. Leave at least an hour to go through the entire building. It has multi levels and multiple rooms. There are also shops near by. It’s a great afternoon trip.

    Don't miss it!
Our third visit to the store. Lots of variety in the merchandise for tons of various interests, from pet owners, candy lovers, golfers, wine lovers, jewelry collectors, spa product buyers, etc. Lots of staff on hand that readily offered assistance. Ability to checkout in various stations throughout the store. One could spend hours exploring the huge store.

    I Heart Vidler’s!
Vidler’s 5 & 10 is perfectly located in the center of charming and historic East Aurora, New York. I lived down the street from here for seven years before leaving the area and have been to Vidler’s many, many times. It was a delight to revisit it with friends and family as part of our summer trip, and after Sunday brunch at the Roycroft. The store has multiple levels connected by staircases (the stairs and floors are the original wood), and is everything an authentic 5 & 10 should be. Vidler’s does a wonderful job of stocking old favorites like nostalgic candies and novelty toys, as well as modern gift items, gardening supplies, kitchen ware, and plenty of Buffalo Bills merchandise. Cookie cutters, Maple Extract, novelty soaps, a nodding bird, candy cigars, Blackcat Gum, Violets, Bleeding Soap, candy cigarettes, hairnets in 1960s packaging, flower seeds, birthday cards, bath soap, sewing necessities, plastic animals, plastic dinosaurs, Slinkys, novelty Monopoly games, pink plastic hair rollers, Gumby, Pokey, and so much more. You’ll need to keep an eye on small children in here; there are plenty of things for unattended little ones to grab! So please behave accordingly.

This place is amazing!! You will be sure to find something for everyone! Even those hard to shop for people. We spent a solid 2 hours walking around looking at all the things fir sale. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!

The village is very walkable too with lots of shops and places to eat.

Parking was free and directly behind the building.

There are quite a few stairs but I did see signs for handicap accessible ways to get to the upper level.

If you are looking for hard to find things, you must shop at Vidlers I took my grand-daughter shopping with me, and she was so excited to find so many things she wanted. It made it easier for me to know that she was getting all the goodies she wanted so that I didn't have to return things she did NOT want. I found many treasures for myself as well, many unique things i could not find elseware. Great shopping adventure

I don't like to travel much now a days because of the COVID. However, my wife and I have been stuck at home doing close to nothing and just short of boredom for months. We live in Buffalo and wanted something different to do and we saw the Vidler's commercial with the morning news....I said to my wife, "Let's get out there today because i've never been there but you have." It was well worth the 20min. drive down the 400! We arrived to a very very busy main st. which cause a bit of parking confusion. We turned around and parked across the street. After the traffic challenge walk, my wife and I were greeted by a wonderful staff of what appeared to be a dedicated hard working group of people! They had so much inventory of odds and end, I know I did not see it all in this one Visit and spent about $100 and it was well worth every dollar!

My youth. My gra dmither's youth, too! Lot's of nostalgia and fun things to see. We bought some wonderful slate garden markers and ild-fasuoned candy. If you use the restroom, they will watch you like a hawk... don't be offended.

I use Vidlers as a perfect example of how local stores can compete with Walmart and Amazon. It’s a delightful place where you can spend hours. The staff is nice and they are happy! I make sure to go every time I’m in the area.

Wow! I walked in the front door and immediately found a great gift for an author friend. But wait...there was more and more and more. Endless. If I hadn't been flying back to Denver, I could have bought a whole lot of great STUFF:)

For those of us old enough to remember 5 and 10s, the ubiquitous creaking wooden floors were an essential element. This, alone, is worth a stop at Vidler's. We spent more than 2 hours here, and I'm sure many spend far more time. Overall, the dept. with the most variety/harkening back to the old days was that of toys. There is also a well stalked kitchen dept. I was somewhat disappointed, because I was looking for some old fashioned slippers and aprons, but couldn't find any. These were common years ago in 5 and 10s. My friend bought a belt for $6; however it's already wearing after just a few uses. Unfortunately some--if not many--of their items are made in China; guess it's impossible to find the American made goods we so used to take for granted when shopping in days past. One of the biggest assets of this place is the plentiful free parking nearby--and this is huge. The only criticism I have is the one stall--for the whole store!--ladies room. This makes no sense, especially with all the people who come to this store. This needs to be addressed!
