- Lizzietish222Buffalo, New York4 contributionsA definite stop in the Finger LakesI have been going to McGregor for about twenty years. It’s a must stop whenever I am hitting the wineries in the Finger Lakes. It’s family run and exudes a cozy and personal vibe. The wines are delicious, the view is spectacular ( you can see the “ crooked finger” point from the deck), and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 1, 2024
- Laurel LYork, Pennsylvania3 contributionsGreat vibe and fun tasting experience!I absolutely love this winery! I try to get to FLX at least 2 times a year and I always want to stop at McGregor Vineyard, see Harry, and take it all in. Please don't ever change! Well, except for the telephone pole - I know you are working on that! I am a club member and it's fun to pick my own wines and get them in the mail. We will see you on the next trip!Visited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten December 5, 2024

We learnt about the vineyard by the recommendation of Unoaked Chardonnay from Keg and Barrel brewery. We really enjoyed the extraordinary quality of chardonnay and decided to go for a wine tasting at the Vineyard. The whole family went there in the afternoon and were seated outdoor with a spectacular view of Lake Keuka and the mountains in the background. They served us their wines from locally grown grapes and we loved all the wines we tasted. The quality and taste of wine is one of the best we ever had. Based on this tasting we bought a box wines comprising unoaked chardonnay, chardonnay, cabernet franc, cabernet france rose', semi-dry riesling, and superavi. We had a such a great experience with the awesome hospitality during the tasting and during our wine purchase, we plan to buy more wine online and go back there on our repeat visit to the finger lakes.

McGregor Winery is a small winery overlooking the east side of Keuka Lake. The view is just the beginning of the experience you’re about to begin. The wines, in my “local” opinion, are some of the best the Finger Lakes has to offer. My personal favorites are the Rob Roy, Cab Frank and of course the Black Russian! The reds are full body and delightful. I’m a “red fan” but enjoy the Chardonnay and Rieslings as well. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Don’t miss this enjoyable experience.

We love stopping at McGregor’s. We have been members of their wine club for many years and enjoy their wines especially the Rib Roy and Cab Franc Rose. Unfortunately they have become so popular you need a reservation to do a wine tasting but it is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful view of Kayla Lake.

McGregor's offers exceptional wine at reasonable prices and the view from the tasting rooms and front deck is beautiful. What sets this winery apart for us is the relaxed atmosphere and the welcoming, friendly staff. We have enjoyed our visits there so much that we became members last year. We look forward to taking guests there for tastings to experience one of the best wineries that the finger lakes have to offer.

Summered at Keuka Lake my whole childhood. McGregor is by far my favorite winery in the entire finger lakes region. Joined the clan club while in its infancy and am still enjoying the fine variety of NY State McGregor wines while living in SC.

I don’t typically leave bad reviews for places even if the service was less than stellar, but the service here was unacceptable!! We’ve been stopping here for 7 years on our annual vacation. We called ahead and were told there’d be no issues. When we arrived we were told to sit wherever we want. We waited a half hour and watched people who came in after us get served so one of our group went in and asked what was going on. We were told we were sitting in the wrong place and had to move!?!?!? So we moved and we’re told they’d be right with us and again we waited while others got served after our arrival!!! One hour wait with absolutely no service!! Not cool. Not sure if I’ll ever come back now. And the topper was we were told to have a great day as we were leaving with no service by the manager!

It's always a pleasure to visit McGregor. The wines are top notch and most of them will age well, some of them, like the Black Russian Red and Rob Roy, for at least a decade or two. You won't really appreciate the BRR unless you've held on to one for 8-10 years, although they're pretty yummy at release.
The tasting experience is relaxed and the staff truly know the wines. Our latest experience in the off season was excellent as always. We enjoyed a glass of wine after tasting, along with a cracker and pesto dip tray. Really a treat. Great views of Keuka Lake.

Each time I visit the Finger Lakes I am on a quest to find the best red wines and bring home at least a case or two. Explained that I enjoy mostly dry full bodied red wines . I find it odd that our server explained that "we are known for our reds". Although there were 5 tastings, I was informed that I could not do 2 tastings of any single wine. Instead, if I wanted red, I had to taste the only 5 available for wine tasting; 3 of which were very light (not bold) and were pretty tasteless. In addition, we were given no info on winery or the 5 wines; there was no interaction with server. Sorry I came and paid $10 for such a disappointing experience.

We have gone to the Finger Lakes once or twice a year for the past 23 years. Every trip includes a stop at McGregor. The experience is one of a kind. The view of the lake, the employees and of course the fantastic wines.

When our family gets together, one stop FOR SURE, is McGregor's. Although our wine tastes vary greatly, McGregor's has something for each of us to enjoy. From the deepest driest reds to the wines with a hint of flowers or sweetness, we spend a relaxed hour or more, savoring the wines and commenting on their characteristics (and sometimes discovering we also like a different wine than our usual favorites. No review would be complete without a reference to the friendly and, above-all, knowledgeable hostesses and hosts. If you have questions on a vintage, they know the answer. Also, McGregor's is one of the few (if not only) vineyards to serve a plate of "bitsies" of cheese, crackers, pesto and chocolate to cleanse your palate and heighten your tasting of the varied selection. All in All, McGregor's is not to be missed.

Mcgregor winery clan picnic day - a brief description, please. My wife and I have
been invited as guests.

Our winery is now 35 years old, but our annual picnic by the pond is actually a tradition that began in the mid 1970s. We are happy to welcome back Gale Wyn Farms from Canandaigua to serve up their mouthwatering Pig Roast to cap off a day of wine and fun.
All current members of the McGregor Vineyard Clan Club are invited to attend and may also bring guests. Reservations are $30 per member and $40 per guest. Call (800) 272-0192 or reply to this message by August 7th to let us know you'll be joining the fun.
Lifetime Clan Club member Walt Atkison from North Carolina performs throughout the afternoon. Walt plays some of the finest guitar and harmonica you'll ever enjoy and we’re excited to have him back again. Additional picnic traditions include Blind Wine Tastings, a Live Auction of older wine vintages from our wine library, Silent Auctions, Raffles, Picnic-only wine specials on numerous wines and lots of merriment!
What Else Should I Know?
We make just one request to you: Prepare a hors d’ouvres to share with the crowd. Be creative (use some McGregor wine!) and please keep in mind that we won’t have the ability to heat or chill what you bring. Don't worry about dessert.. we've got it covered!
We do provide chairs under the tents but we strongly suggest you bring a comfortable lawn chair. The picnic is rain or shine… Regardless of the weather, the Clan Club Picnic is always one of the very most memorable days of summer.
