I'd put their wines near the top

Wine is a matter of individual taste and my wife and I tried to visit as many Finger Lake wineries in the two days we had. (We only got to 16 out of a possible 103) The winery... read more

We stopped at this winery based on other tripadvisor reviews. The sommelier was knowledgeable and gave us several bonus tastings. We probably had eight or nine samples for our $5 rather than the five we were supposed to get. They didn't have much in the way of reds, but their white wines were excellent. The sweeter whites were very good,... More

Wine is a matter of individual taste and my wife and I tried to visit as many Finger Lake wineries in the two days we had. (We only got to 16 out of a possible 103) The winery research I did prior to our trip had Wiemer near the top and I must heartily agree. Their 2014 semi-dry reisling sets... More

The woman we had for our tasting was very knowledgeable about the wines offered as well as the properties where the grapes are grown for each wine. She went into the history of the company, which added to the fun of the experience. The tastings are held in a beautiful barn, which adds drama and visual interest. The rieslings were... More

This probably is the #1 winery in the Finger Lakes region, at least when it comes to professional reviews. I like Dr. Frank a bit better, but it's a close call. Their white wines are fantastic, especially the dry rieslings and the admittedly expensive single vineyard rieslings, which are outstanding and worthy of 5+ years of cellaring before drinking. If... A recommended stop off on the way south from Geneva NY to Pennsylvania. Mostly whites as the red varietals don't do so well in the climate. But the wines are very high quality. A decent tasting area with good choice at a very reasonable price. We didn't eat here although you can. Justine tasted, bought two bottles and moved on.... More

My husband & I checked out this winery mainly due to location - across the street from the Savannah House Inn and also because I read it was world renowned for Riesling. Now, we don't enjoy Riesling's as a whole, but figured if we were going to like one, it would only make sense to try some of the best.... More

Not only is the wine from Hermann Wiemer Vineyards superb, but the tasting was a wonderful and educational experience. We were educated about the history of this winery as well as why certain grapes are grown in certain areas of this region. Daniel was an excellent teacher because we felt we learned something about the region we had not been... More

If you want a good experience in wine tasting go to Hermann J Wiemer! There is a greeter at the door. The place is nicely landscaped with well tended flowers which make it so inviting. The wines are great and there is a variety of ways to taste depending on your level of interest. The wines are on a par... More

If you're a red wine drinker, this probably isn't the place for you. For an area that prides itself on Rieslings, though, this one would have to be at or near the top. We tasted a lot of very average Rieslings at other wineries -- these were just better. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Certainly one of the... More

Excellent reiseling, excellent hospitality. Friendly people, this is the best winery in finger lake. $5 for 5 wines although there are $3 for special one.
