The fireworks were spectacular and the music was great. There were ice cream trucks to buy goodies and families taking the pleasant atmosphere in.

Large, recently redone local park along the river with views of the two bridges and the Palisades. New walking paths, children's playground, soccer field, kayak/canoe launch, and fishing pier. Summer outdoor concert series. On the pier, you feel like you are out on the river.

Getting there options:
(1) Use MetroNorth Dobbs Ferry station.
(2) Bee-Line Bus routes 1, 1C, 1T, or 66. The 6 bus is not that far, but about 100 yards longer walk. Use the train station's pedestrian bridge to cross the tracks.
(3) Driving is complicated. You can drop off at the park, but you can't park there. Metered parking exists on streets on the town side of the tracks; look for High Street or Palisade Street near the station. Bring lots of quarters! Then walk across train station's pedestrian bridge to reach park side of the tracks. (Do not attempt to park in the train station lot, as police enforcement is fierce 365 days a year).

Pros: Great cafe/bar/restaurant, called Hudson Social, located in the historic station building. Public bathrooms at northern side of park near playground.

Cons: The ugliness of the giant car parking lot takes something away from the park's beauty.

The park is a revitalized residential park and during the week a sticker is needed to park at the waterfront park opposite the railroad station. There are bathrooms located at the park and there is also an outdoor gym located at the north end of the park with monkey bars. Weekends are free and it seems to attract everyone from neighboring cities. There are grills and picnic tables located at the north end of the park and a permit is needed to use the grill and picnic tables for parties. They allow dogs at the park , but unfortunately some owners are neglectful in cleaning up after their pets. Unfortunately, people throw their garbage are plastic bottles about the park. I guess that's the result of opening the park to neighboring cities on the weekends. The village of Irvington has a much NICER park that is clean and well kept.

Look down the Hudson River and see the silhouette of Manhattan less than 20 miles away. Look across the river and view the rock face of the 'Palisades' cliffs. Watch the river flow 2 ways when the ocean tide is coming in. Look up river to the old and new Tappan Zee Bridges. Playground, picnic area, boat launch, and concerts in the summer, Waterfront Park has something for almost everyone. Dobbs Ferry Train Station directly opposite makes accessing the park extremely easy for those in NYC.

Small, quaint park right along the Hudson River. The view is Spectacular. Saw families on blankets playing, reading & walking the dog, like us. There’s a small playground and dock nearby for up close river viewing. There’s the Half Moon restaurant close by for white linen eating. The Hudson Social is a tavern right by the train station where you can get bar food and sit outside.Train station is right there, that can whisk you into NYC. Great park. Everything in walking distance. Plenty of parking.

We have lived in Dobbs Ferry long enough to remember when there was no waterfront park. Then, when it was created, we felt very lucky to have a lovely recreation spot between the railroad station and the Hudson River with beautiful views of the Palisades across the river, the Tappan Zee Bridge to the north, and the Manhattan skyline and George Washington Bridge to the south. After a long and expensive renovation, the park is still all of those good things and so much more. There's a small beach (no swimming), walking paths, a boat dock, a fishing pier, a picnic area with grills and tables, an enclosed playground for different age groups, benches for relaxing and enjoying the views, an exercise circuit at the north end, rest rooms in season, kayak storage, a stage for performances, and lots of trees.

Well I am biased as a long time Dobbs Ferry resident. My tax money helped pay for this park and it is wonderful. Actually the upgrades are magnificent and I am now living one town away that also has an awesome part. But what is extra special about this park is the closeness to a special historical site and the wonderful posters that are placed at the end of the park nearest that historical site adding a dimension that none of the other parks along the lower Hudson region have, at least non that I have seen certainly between Yonkers and Tarrytown and I believe also not at the park in Croton. So I am limited in my comparisons. The view from this park is amazing. There is a lovely little beach, real sand . this is not a swimming beach, it is not for sunbathing. It is tiny. Perhaps one child and a sand pail for 15 minutes type of place. Very quiet. But there are free concerts in the summer. The atmosphere at these concerts is amazing. The view of the Palisades, the Hudson River, the magnificent park and even the railroad trains near by just give the entire experience a very special aura. So I love Dobbs Ferry and I love this park.

The Waterfront Park is a very nice place to relax and enjoy the sunset. There's a children's playground, a very small sandy "beach" area, picnic area, parking, and beautiful views up and down the Hudson River.
