I have been visiting Five Rivers for 3+ decades, since I was a small child. And I have also visited many times with my son over the more recent years.

Last week, I visited with my mom and my son, who is now 13 (he was a bit reluctant because nature is 'boring' at his age). As a good grandson, he went in order to be with grandma, and he found.. it is just as Much FUN in the discovery center as it ever was, looking at bones and feathers and other things, and interacting with the owl and turtles there.

The nature trails are also as enticing as ever - it's a place that offers education in nature far and away above mere hiking or meandering in the woods. There is so much value in the offerings here, for families, classes, schools, camps, and individuals.

Fun for all ages, timeless and timely. In this changing climate we need places of research and teaching, and intentional ecosystems that can be an example of perfect harmony everywhere.

Five Rivers continues to be a gem, and an invaluable resource in the greater New York area.

This is a wonderful out door experience where you can go hiking snowshoeing, bird watching. Nature is everywhere, lots of streams and peaceful little places to meditate at. Lots of wild life.

When I want to get away, but stay close by, it's off to Five Rivers. The trails are varied. Along a stream, through meadows, in the woods, and by a lake. They are all well marked and easy to follow. I go alone but take my grandkids when they visit. We have a great time. Hiking four seasons and skiing when there's snow.

Nice trails may see some animals, if you live in the city a nice place to experience nature. The do have an education center but not very large. Sometimes they have special programs and guided nature walks.

Cutting heritage trees for no reason! We took a walk this morning on the Vlomankill Trail and noticed a lot of random tree cutting was done recently, including some healthy 110 year old white pines. The cutting was done by contract because we saw the crew at work a few weeks ago but the workers were badly directed by the state. Healthy Ash and Hemlocks, well off the trail were clear cut while less healthy trees leaning over the trail were left in place. A bad job!

Lovely little slice of land just outside of town. Great for a short walk or a stroll with the kids. There is a short trail around a beaver pond and several longer trails near a stream or thru a field. Awesome for deer spotting early in the morning. A favorite place of mine to regroup and reflect

I have been going to Five Rivers for years, have enjoyed taking the younger generation over the last few years. They have a great educational center, lots of good trails and just a peaceful place to be.

They are in the process of working on the most popular trail around the pond, can't wait to see what it is like.

There are a variety of trails and bodies of water to explore. The center is spread over a large enough area that even when it is busy it doesn't feel crowded. Always see some wild life - various birds, turtles, deer, muskrat. My sister has been in the evening and seen beavers too.

A great place with lots of different trails to walk - ponds, woods, fields, marshes and lots of natural things to see - geese, beavers, ducks, different birds, chipmunks, fungus, different plants and trees. Always love coming here with my camera in all seasons. Very peaceful as well.

Yesterday was my first time at five rivers. Me and my boyfriend walked almost all the trails. The beaver trail is my favorite.
