Near the village of Planes (which is well worth a visit...It has a 11th Century church, tower, castle remnants and a hermits lodge and is not touristy at all) is Barranc de la Encantada. The place is really nice for a picnic and appeared to be a real favourite with locals.

The trip from Pedregeur via Orba and Pago takes you high into the mountains through stunning scenery. At its highest point the road reaches over 650 meters.
