- OwenSydney, Australia14 contributionsExceptional service & experienceI highly recommend Yarran Wines for their cheese + chill wine tasting experience. The selection was great & I enjoyed & bought some wines for the upcoming Christmas season. Melinda, the host, was knowledgeable & has great passion for what she is doing. If you want to sit next to a vineyard & taste some good wines & local produce, Yarran Wines will be the best place to be.Thank you for your lovely review! - Howesyourelbow1 contributionTasting among the vineyardsWhat a lovely find on a wine tasting trip around Griffith! Such a great cellar door that literally butts onto the vines and has a lovely homely and family feel. Not knowing much of Yarran Wines before this visit we found the varietal wines to be excellent and reasonably priced. Although out of town the drive is easy and at the end a cellar door that has more atmosphere than the other larger wineries around the region. All the best Yarran Pete SydneyThank you so much for your lovely review Pete! It was so nice to have you visit our cellar door and we hope you come back sometime soon! This Cellar Door is set in one of the most beautiful vineyards in Griffith. The staff were friendly and informative. Some unique red wines developed by the Yarran wine makers only available at this Cellar Door. You can sit on the verandah overlooking the vineyard or relax on the grass adjacent to the vineyard and Cellar Door. Tasting are $5 per person but this is refunded if you but wine. Well worth the visit.

I had a friend (and avid wine drinker) visit from Queensland recently and had a day to show him the best of the region. Naturally we blew off the local vintage festival to lounge in the sun sipping Sams top notch wines, with a beautiful platter of regional goods and the always stunning backdrop. Always a great day at Yarran.

A great way to start the day, with an 11am wine-tasting and cheese-board. Katie was an outstanding, friendly and knowledgeable host, with the wines displayed a strong connection to the region. We were particularly impressed with the cellar-door building, which reflected their elegant yet simple approach to quality wine development.

We recently booked in for a wine tasting experience at Yarra Wines while visiting our adult son in the Riverina. What a wonderful experience it was! An idyllic setting, a stunning selection of very affordable wines and a very knowledgeable wine guide. We learned so much about the wines and the region as a whole. We joined the wine club ( no hard sell or minimum spend per year) and purchased two boxes.

5 of us called to Yarra Wines for a wine tasting. We had no booking. Firstly we were told there was no roo if we didn’t have a booking, no one else was there. But one helpful staff member offered us a seat in the veranda which was fine by us as coming from Bathurst area we didn’t think it was that cold. The staff member who seated us went to see if she could get get a cheese platter but came back to say sorry no. Apart from the one young lady that did our wine tasting we felt very unwelcome. Between us we bought 15 bottles of wine, I would assume worth her while.
The main reason we visited Yarra wines was because it was were our mother, who passed away last year, took us several years ago. She was brought up in Yenda on Gribble Road and she sat on the verandah telling us who used to own which farm. After feeling so unwelcome not sure we we go back again. Forgotten the name of the staff member who served us, she said she hadn’t been there long. I’d hang onto to her.

Hello, we are sad to hear you were unable to enjoy your time with us at Yarran Wines. We definitely try our best to accommodate everyone that comes out here, rather than a rushed-through task. We love spending time with each and every visitor that walks through our doors. Rushing our customers through is not how we like to operate and hope the rest of the lovely reviews you'll see on here can encourage you to join us another time. We always try our best to ensure a seat is ready and waiting for you when we know you are coming. Hope you enjoyed the remainder of your time in Yenda. Cheers, and all the best.

There is no better pace in Griffith (well Yenda to be exact) to spend a chill afternoon than on the veranda or on the lawns at Yarran Wines. Looking out over the lush green vineyard towards the Binya hills you can’t help but relax and enjoy great wines, food and service. Sam Brewer (Yarran’s winemaker) crafts an eclectic and award-winning wine portfolio largely using his own local grapes and he has something to please everyone. Named James Halliday ‘s ‘2021 Dark Horse Winery’ demonstrates just how good Yarran is. There are many occasions when Yarran has a local musician playing on the lawns and the winery takes on a boutique festival vibe.
On the most recent day we went we accompanied our wines with food supplied by. The food was supplied by Mirrool Cottage and everyone was made from local produce or sourced from local suppliers. It was a great accompaniment to our wines.
If you are after a lazy afternoon with great food and wine or just want to buy some of the best wines in the Riverina do yourself a favour and get to Yarran. You wont regret it.

Really enjoyed the visit. This is not like the other wineries in the area. This area produces massive volumes of wine but this vineyard is small and not aiming for mass production. They are about producing quality wines.
We booked ahead and had a cheese board full of local produce. Very relaxing tasting the range of wines on the verandah overlooking the vines.
Highly recommend dropping in for a visit.

Stopped in for a wine tasting matched with the cheese platter. Tried 6 red varieties all of which were very nice. So nice in fact we left with 7 bottles and joined their club.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about their wines.
The cheese platter was a huge surprise and excellent value for money full of delicious regional produce.
Check them out.
