VerKeerderkill Falls are located in a remote part of the Gunks, thus remaining a unique wild wonder. The view of the falls is just breathtaking.

This hike was awesome, but it was extremely challenging - walked two miles on rocks. Worth the trek if you are a seasoned hiker, but otherwise, may pass.

Late April weekday visit. Only a few cars in the parking lot. Nice views from Sam's Point. Walked the VerKeerderkill Falls trail (note: start not well marked, only about 200 feet down the ice caves trail on the left). Very rocky! Bring good boots and...More

Hiked up there from the other side as a child in July. Following the stream back which lead to the falls was a crystal clear icy pool among the rocks. It was surrounded by Mountain Laurel and wild blueberries. What a fairy tale site it...More
