Good but Pricey
Jun 2018 • Couples
The only reason I didn't rate this higher was due to the price. The wine list was extensive and the drinks were reasonably priced ($8-12 for wine, $8-15 for mixed drinks), but the entrees were outrageously priced. Most entrees came as a half or whole order; the half orders were $20-30, and the full orders were $35 - 50. I got the half saag paneer: it was good, but about $20 for a very small plate. I might return here for drinks and appetizers, but not a full meal.

Nice Restaurant but Not Much Choice
Dec 2017 • Couples
This is a cozy but spacious restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday night which was apparently "tapas night" and it was very busy. There wasn't much variety in the tapas being offered and only two (I think) regular meals offered. It seemed odd. I ordered the duck dish which was okay but not great, my husband had tapas, again, okay but not much. Although busy, the service was friendly and efficient. I got the sense that this is a very popular place but not for us.

Friendly Service / Fun Food / Comfortable Space
Jun 2017 • Couples
We were looking for a fun, not-too-stuffy restaurant and the hotel suggested The Cellar. A great choice. Angela our waitress was fun and very open to helping us find a wine that worked for our meal... and find a right quantity of food... NB: I find it easy to over-order Tapas.
We had a fun selection food from different cultures.
Tapas plates here are not too small - great for sharing and getting more than one bite.
We highly recommend.
Service all around was great - good teamwork.

Imaginitive menu and extensive wine list
Oct 2016 • Friends
The variety of tapas was what drew us to this restaurant and they did not disappoint. We tried 6 different dishes and the only thing that was average was the potato leek soup. The scallops were exceptional! They also have an amazing wine list and some creative cocktails. Service was friendly and professional. We would definitely return when in the area in future.

Nice find

Interesting menu in the Finger Lakes in the lovely city of Corning. Nice space and the beet gyro and chicken tostada were outstanding. I was less enthused about the Brussels sprouts which were nicely salty with soy sauce but seemed a bit sharp. Prices seemed reasonable. I thought the wine pour was not as generous. I would have guessed 4 oz and not 6. But the wines were quite good. If I lived here I would certainly return.

Fantastic dining experience
Jul 2016 • Couples
On our way to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon, we made a 2 day stop in Corning, New York. What a nice hidden gem at the beginning of the Finger Lakes. Our first restaurant was The Cellar. My husband is a chef and we love farm to table places and fresh ideas in food. The Cellar had it all. We ordered tappas, charcuterie, and half portions which we love. Dessert was unique. Home made graham crackers, marshmallows and ganache. You actually melt your own marshmallows at the table!. The staff was also great, very prompt and well informed on the menu. We will definitely be back!

Good wine list. Would be better if they honored reservations.

SImple story, won't go into the details. Made a reservation in person for the time the host said a table would be ready... had that conversation, personally, with him. He decided on our time. When we arrive, no table. Inexcusable.

Love the farm to table tapas concept...

Love the concept of this place... farm to table tapas. Entrees are also available. We've eaten there twice and were pleased both times. Excellent wine list.
