What a great time warp back into history! We were given a great tour by Pat over the entire grounds including the cabin, schoolhouse, the blacksmith shop and the main tavern and inn. Pat told us stories about each of the areas including some of the history of the area. We especially enjoyed the immersive approach of each of the areas as the visitors can touch, feel and use the tools from the past. We especially liked the room with the different textiles and spinning tools. We would highly recommend this tour!

Absolutely recommend this for anyone visiting the area. Our tour guide Carolyn was wonderful and so engaging for my young daughters. They absolutely loved it and learned so much from her. She answered all their questions about life back then and was so friendly. We toured the Inn and schoolhouse. We will be back again!!

While in Corning, in addition to the world renowned Corning Museum of Glass, both the very nearby Benjamin Patterson Inn and Rockwell Museum of Western Art are well worthwhile seeing.
The also proximate Finger Lakes are most scenic, with lots of side trip options.

We didn't actually get a chance to do the tour. I still wanted to write a review to maybe save someone else from our problem. The day we were there (a Thursday during the summer) they only ran tours every 2 hours and we get there about 40 minutes after the previous tour. We weren't going to hang around for 90 minutes waiting for the next tour. If this tour is something you want to do, make sure to check the times they are sending out tours. The sign said that you had to go on a tour guide-led tour.

We visited the Heritage Village during the 1st week of December 2015. Very inexpensive, wonderful place. The 4 buildings include an inn built in 1796, a log cabin from 1855, a 1 room schoolhouse from 1878, & a blacksmith shop from the 1870's. When I called ahead I was told the tour would take about 45 minutes. We ended up with an incredible docent who spent 2 hours with us. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This museum has some items in it that we have not seen in any other historic museums.

We have enjoyed going to the Benjamin Patterson Inn with our kids. Their museum is a true to life representation of yesteryear. With a working blacksmith shop and a one room school house, families get a peek into what life was like. Definitely go during Wingblinger at the beginning of September!

A few minutes away from downtown Corning, this little area was a nice stop. Admission was very inexpensive. There are a few buildings to see, a blacksmith shop, one room school house, a cabin, and on old inn, which was very interesting. A nice way to spend an hour if you are in the area.

When we came to Corning, we did not expect to find living history going on right across the street from our hotel. It was a living history weekend when we were there and it was awesome to see the reenactors and the different things going on. Being history buffs it was so cool to talk to the different people along the way. Thank you for bringing history to life!

This historic inn was right across the street from our hotel, which was the only way we knew it was there. We saw no advertising in any of the tourist pamphlet displays. We are SO glad we stopped, because this was an excellent venue. The inn itself is very well preserved, and our tour guide was the best we've ever toured with. There is also a one room schoolhouse and a one room cabin on the property. A must see.

This museum is actually a collection of old, restored buildings. The main museum building is an 18th Century tavern/inn. The site also has a log cabin, barn and school house. All the buildings are very well maintained. My husband and I went to the Benjamin Patterson Inn Museum on the day before Thanksgiving and it was snowing and cold in Corning, but the very knowledgeable tour guide gave us a wonderful tour. The tour guide was really great; nice, friendly and informative. This is a fun place to visit and see some American history.
