My husband and I live in this part of New York state and what we consider to be a high quality of life here is dependent on the availability and excellence of local food products. We both love to cook and there is nothing as satisfying as starting with really good ingredients that come from farmers we know by name who live and work nearby. If you are used to Farmers' Markets in urban areas it will seem like a small market, and it is, but there is so much variety and such high quality goods available at the Cooperstown Farmers' Market that it is perfect for us.
The staples we depend on include: locally produced meat from several farms that is truly the best you can get anywhere, cured meat products, amazing cheeses, eggs, herbal tea, honey, award winning maple syrup and sugar, ALL the fresh produce, herbs, pickles, spicy mustard! ... Occasionally we also indulge in a gorgeous flower bouquet, a homemade pie, or some other wonderful treat that's irresistible... I can't say enough good about the farmers and makers who run stands at the market. Every single one produces excellent products of one kind or another.
I do wish someone sold butter...

It's great seeing where local far,s and craftsmen can sell their products and interact with the community. Nice market in the center of town that is worth a visit if you are in Cooperstown.

Don't miss the Cooperstown Farmer's Market, right off Main Street. In the summer beautiful produce, much of organic, abounds. Vendors sell baked goods, homemade cheese, organically raised beef, pork, lamb, and poultry, and even goat and fresh fish. Knitters and weavers are here, as well as musicians. It's a great place for the townspeople to meet and catch up on the latest news. The market is now open from 8 a.m. until 2 pm. every Saturday. Best to get there early if you want Kathleen's coffee cakes! I hope to get a photo eventually!

Small but nice selection of vendors. They seem to be handling Covid in a logical and useful manner. Have both food and arts.

We always go to farmers' markets both at home and when we travel. This is the best we have visited. There is a great variety of high quality food, plants, and related craft items. The vendors were friendly and helpful. We did some of our Christmas shopping, even (it's July). This will be at the top of our list the next time we visit Cooperstown.

The best seasonal vegetables, flowers, cheeses, meat products, mushrooms, maple syrup, crafts, breads, etc. Easy to find and a treat for all. Just off main street, there's usually folk music and a super friendly atmosphere. The local breweries and distillers some times have tastings. Opens at 9 to 2 , but check to be sure.

Lots of fruit and veg, all grown locally. Don't miss the Black Cat Cafe for carrot cake and chicken curry salad for lunch. The trio at the door will set the mood with fiddle and banjos. Organic offerings abound, delicious breads and cakes, topped off with Painted Goat soft cheeses.
Hand made crafts, hand spun wool and alpaca yarns and items. Take a cart to bring it all home.

Hi everyone!
My boyfriend and I are visiting town for spring break (March 13-16). I was just wondering if the market would be open? I just adore them.

Hello, just wondering what days the farmers market happens? I'm only going to be in town for a few days so I want to know if I should plan for this event. Thanks!

The Farmer's market is open every Saturday during the summer, I think May to September. It is open every other Saturday after that. It is totally worth a visit. I highly recommend the local honey and Painted Goat cheese.
