While hitting locations on the Cooperstown Beverage Trail, the GPS screwed up; we were on our way to Cooperstown Brewing Company but ended a block short and came upon a old train. Our first question was...do you know where the Brewery is (for the record, it's right behind the tracks... next right SIRI) the next question was . . .... More

We took their fall foliage excursion on Columbus Day. The weather was perfect and the trip was nice. It takes about 2 hours for the whole thing. The train heads down the valley north towards Cooperstown. You can sit in a dining car, regular car and they have an open car which was perfect for this day. They do have... More

Got much more than we excepted. It was a bargain. Got a large buffet dinner of authentic German food. Stopped for an hour and a half up the line to a pavilion where they had a great German band and the staff was wonderful. We had a great time.

Way over priced. do the Adirondack or the Rodchester ride don't waste the money. It is about double the others.

Stopped by on an off day with our young son, who loves all things train related. One of the volunteer staff went out of his way to give us a tour and information on the railroad, his knowledge & enthusiasm were contagious! This location should be much higher on the "things to do" list.

Congrats to the railroad , volunteers, and private motorcar (speeder) owners for a wonderful time this past weekend. The public was allowed to go through equipment normally off-limits and ride on several speeders, velocipedes and handcars much to the joy of the children. The inside Lionel model railroad gave much enjoyment to a throng of youngsters who ran the 3... More

My friend and I decided to ride the rails and hopefully enjoy good food, and entertainment. What we discovered was excessive drinking, cigarette smoke, and pipes of pot being passed around stinking up the air while we tried to listen to the band!!!! People were hitting the bar car hard and carrying four to five cans of beer with them... More

Maybe something children might enjoy. Very pricey for a slow train ride from it's origin, then back to it's origin. Went on here twice. Once with a class trip and once with a friend. Too loud outside for a conversation. Perhaps more enjoyable for a tourist wanting to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage that Upstate has to offer. Will not... More

Yesterday a group of friends organized a superb outing on The C&CV riding the Ice Cream train north from Milford Depot. The railroad folks very generously loaded twelve canoes and kayaks on their flatbed and then let us off the train just south of Cooperstown. We put the canoes and kayaks in the river and paddled back down to a... More

First of all, I would like to start by thanking the staff of the railroad for being so incredibly accommodating in light of our special request. Ours was not an ordinary ride. For years my husband has wanted to canoe down the Susquehanna River; it starts at the south end of the lake. After doing some research he wondered if... More
