I have been using this lake for more than 25 years and it is not easy to find access for a fishing boat. There is a bit of a scary ramp right at the end of Fair Street by the Lakefront Hotel. By scary I mean it drops off quickly in depth. There is another access site just behind the... More

We enjoyed a cruise on the lake. What a beautiful lake. Apparently most of it is privately owned so there are many green areas on the lake and not so many houses and cottages. The tour we took was lovely although I would have wanted a bit more narrative than what was offered. In any event, it was an enjoyable... More

This is a very special lake. For starters, it has a castle, which you do not always find. There are three public swimming sites, Fairy Springs, Three Mile Point and Glimmerglass state park, the last being the largest. If you are there when there is not a lot of motorboat traffic it is very peaceful.

The glimmer glass boat ride was an amazing surprise to our Cooperstown visit. It was a beautiful day and the water, always, was clean and sparkling. We were hopeful there would be enough people to take the ride as they must have at least 12 passengers to depart. Luckily there was just the right amount and we left the dock... More

We took an hour long boat ride on this lake, on the Glimmerglass Queen Ship. Tour is narrated with a recording. But seeing the Kingfisher tower made this ride unique. Very peaceful, lake not overly developed. I would definitely try it, though it only departs Spring and Fall Weds through Sunday Limited hours, call to verify

Stunning NY lake surrounded by Catskill Mountains. Fishing is exceptional though I didn't have any luck.

Otsego Lake is so pretty! Be sure and take the Glimmerglass boat tour around the lake. We were blessed with warm and sunny days, which highlighted the beauty of the lake. Next visit we will rent kayaks and spend more time on the water.

Frist of all the lake is beautiful. Second the lake is commercialized than Lake George. Third it sounded by mountains . Last the views are just breathtaking.

Mist rising from the morning lake, shards of light in the afternoon, moonlight beaming in the dark, a magical lake!
