A beautiful old stone church that is a "no judgement zone". Located at the crossroads of Cold Spring it is a haven for the weary soul

People come to worship, though the church has little money to persevere, and in great need of upgrades. It's been thru a few pastors, and another just quit, or whatever they call it. I come on late fall and winter farmers markets starting 8:30 for wonderful winter selections.

Built in 1868 at the corner of Chestnut Street and Main Street. Saint Mary's is a beautiful and graceful Episcopal Church. Known for its 128 foot granite spire and beautiful Stain Glass windows, it sits on a gorgeous lawn with magnificent trees and great place to visit and relax.
From the lawn there are spectacular views of the Hudson River, Storm King Mountain, and West Point.
In the fall, winter, and spring it is home to a great farmers market on Saturday mornings.

We only viewed the outside but is in an absolutely beautiful church. There is also a war memorial in the corner of the lot. The girl scouts have a community herb garden planted there. There is a tree that was planted in rememberance of the 50th Anniversary of World War II.

The church is an old stone building part way up the hill in Cold Spring; less than a 10 minute walk from the train station.
The church occupies a large piece of real estate at a busy corner of town (where the only traffic light in center of town is located).
Inside is quiet and has a number of stained glass windows.
The property hosts the Farmers Market during the 'off' season.

It is a graceful looking episcopal church seen during the city walk. Simple stained glass windows. Nice surroundings.

I've known Father Shane since he baptised my daughter at St. Mary's, Tess is 20 now. As a lapts Bronx Irish Catholic. I had attended St. John's Parochial school and even considered becoming a priest. After moving to Cold Spring on Hudson. I attempted to go to the local Catholic church only to be reminded why I left in the first place. Father Shane welcomed me, as he welcomed EVERYONE with open arms and compassion. That compassion caused quite a stir in or simple town. When 9/11 happened I went to St. Mary's and prayed. When the one year anniversary of September 11th happened I did not know what to do, so I went to St Mary's Episcopal Church, Cold Spring, NY. Fr. Shane was going to ring the bells of St Mary for every soul lost on that dreadful day and asked for help. It was cathartic to spend a few hrs ringing the bell and chatting with Fr. Shane. Always charismatic, and what us Irish call "The Gift of Eloquence" he eased my troubles. When I met the woman that would become my wife I knew of only one Padre to officiate. My bride who was immune her entire life from all forms of religion was skeptical. I said just have a moment in his grace and then decide. She came away blessed by his presence. We've been through our troubles as we all have but the initial guidance and course that Fr. Shane provide has held true to course.
