The Cohoes Falls are a nice nice place to visit to take in beautiful sites along with some history. There is a nice walkway and viewing areas to take in the sites of the falls and signage to explain the history of the area. Springtime...More

We were disappointed to find the lower portion of the park closed in winter. I wish the closing would have been more prominently displayed on websites. The parking lot is open but the gates are locked up to the lower portion of the park. We...More

I took my 86 year old Mum to see the Falls today - she can’t walk far and we were able to park right next to the viewing deck and get a great view. The noise and water flow were quite dramatic!

A must visit whenever we have visitors to Cohoes. Folks are always amazed we have such an amazing natural wonder in our backyard. A part of our country's history with a series of 16 locks built around the falls and completed in 1825 to go...More

Love to go here especially after a heavy rainfall. The park is beautiful and lets you see the falls at its best. You can walk down the long staircase and see it from eye level which is even better then viewing from the top.

We stumbled across these waterfalls by accident. Spectacular. If you are looking for an amazing sight the Cohoes falls are exactly that. Worth the walk down to the bottom to see from the riverside. Again a hidden gem that was well worth the visit

Cohoes Falls was a nice surprise because it's not famous. It's pretty big! I remember reading that was a huge problem in the building of the Erie Canal. The flow is regulated by the power company so the appearance is variable. When we visited on...More

I can't believe that they haven't done more of this place, as it could give the city a whole lot more tourism (and income). The falls aren't super spectacular in any way, but they are close to the best you will find in this area...More

Route 9 is the long way. Take I787 north from Albany to Cohoes. When it ends at Route 32, go straignt through the light onto Mohawk Street. Continue on Mohawk for about 3/4 mile. You will see signs for the falls overlook... More
