Really surprised at how much we enjoyed camping at this state park. We had full hookups in a large grassy pull thru site. Alghough the park was close to full, it was very quiet and peaceful. The beach is adequate and kayaking access easy. Best...More

Cedar Point State Park is one of a beautiful chain of State Parks along Highway 12E. I think it's one of the largest and is worth a stop for a swim.

Beautiful State Park for camping. Pick a site near the St. Lawrence River to see the big ships, small watercraft, ducks, seagulls, and be in close proximity to the beach, Marina, and bathhouse. Pet friendly. As first time RV campers we were nervous. Our beagle...More

We stayed at site 36 in the park which happens to be full hook-up and accessible. This was second row of campers from the river. Sites where we stayed were paved and clean. There were many sites that were in grassy areas as well. Camp...More

This campground on the St. Lawrence River has some family-friendly amenities like a playground and small beach. There is some construction/renovation currently taking place near the beach making it a bit unattractive. Staff is friendly and helpful.

State Park recommendation (2 Replies)
We will not sleep at the Booneville Fairgrounds again, with two boys it is just too hard. We want to take our little 16 foot 1963 Mallard Drake camper to a campground not too far from Boonville (<1hour), we will set up our "base camp" then spend the remainder of the week on vacation - mid August. We will be competing at Boonville both Saturday and Sunday. We LOVE Cedar Point State Park on the St. Lawrence River. It is just too far from Boonville for this trip, we go to fish and there is a...More

Not sure about the location of site 2.. Nicks Lake is beautiful, and a great spot..you could also check out Limekiln lake at the edge of Inlet (and closer than 8th Lake)..there are no power boats allowed at Nicks..so the boat launch is for kayaks and canoes. The best of the family parks..have fun!

3 days with 3 kids in The Hamptons (21 Replies)
Thinking of heading to the Hamptons as part of our family camping trip. My family (3 kids 2,5,& 7 and Hubby) and I are going camping through Maine this summer August 2014 starting in Bar harbor, Rockport, Portland and Boston. Then possibly The Hamptons for 2-3 nights (August 13, 14 &15); what are some good campgrounds (sleeping in a tent)? Cedar Point State Park Campground looks nice and central from pictures, but it's hard to tell from a computer. We are looking for a relaxing...More

Cedar Point County Park 5 Cedar Point Rd East Hampton, NY 11937 Neighbourhood: South Fork That is weird, It shows this place being in the East Hamptons. Are there any campsites in the East Hamptons? Wildwood state park is in Rhode Island, that's over 3 hours drive from the Hamptons. We are considering doing a night in Rhode Island but for the Hamptons portion of the trip we would need to stay in the Hamptons.
