This was part of a tour we did with Uncle Sam's Boat Tours....the history is interesting as is the castle. It is beginning to need a lot of repairs and is "a little down in the heels". You do have to walk up a hill to get to the castle, so if you have trouble walking you might want to... More

We took Uncle Sam's boat tour to visit the island. You're meet at the dock by your guide. They walk you around the grounds (not a whole lot to see) and take you thru the house. All the guides were young but very knowledgeable. The house is full of secret passages, and he let us peak our head inside. The... More

This remote historic castle is located on Dark Island and is accessible by boat only. Nestled in the scenic Thousand Islands area along the St. Lawrence Seaway, this castle has an interesting history. Guided tours are available of the house and grounds. Private boats are welcome, but you can also access the island using public boat transportation nearby. It's also... More

Singer Castle was built in the 19 century by Frederick Bourne, who was president of Singer sewing machine company which explains the name. Its a beautiful castle with a lot of secret tunnels modelled on the Castle in Woodstock, England. In all the rooms there are exhibits of various singer machines as part of display.

Singer Castle was beautiful despite some well worn carpets and wallpaper. It has such charm. There is a knight in armor as you enter the castle and there are many secret passageways! Our guide was really excellent, though rushed. Our tour group could only stay for a 45 minute visit due to the boat schedule. No matter, we did get... More

We visited Singer Castle through an Uncle Sam's boat tour. We enjoyed the tour - it's a fun castle with a good tour guide. The castle was designed based on a book, and so has many of the fun touches that real castles may not, such as secret passageways, winding staircases and hidden vantage points. Unfortunately on the boat tour... More

The castle is frozen in time! The tour was about an hour, very detailed and informative. They've done a wonderful job preserving the castle and its original furnishings. It's definitely worth going!

Very nice tour. Staff was fun and outgoing. Very accommodating. We went with small children and this is definitely not one of those look don't touch tours.

This was our first ever visit to Singer Castle. We had a great guide and learned a lot about the castle and its history. Singer Castle is a small medieval castle modeled after a castle featured in a book by Sir Walter Scott. It has armour, secret passages and even a dungeon. It was built by the one-time CEO of... Tour was great. Disappointed that there was many seniors on the trip and they could not make it into the castle due to the amount of uphill walking and stair climbing. This was not mentioned till after paying for your boat ride and admission. Informed on the boat ride if you have any back, knee, heart problems you can sit... More
