Enjoyed the shops, lots of bargains. Caught bus from port authority, very expensive and then waited over an hour to get bus back as so many people queuing and not enough buses.

Huge outlet, the biggest I've ever been to by far. Really premium and exquisite stores. Prices are very good. We shopped til we dropped. Definitely recommend it if you are willing to buy stuff (and not window shop). Came all the way from Montreal to...More

We visited the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets (Central Valley, New York) in late December. We travelled via Coach from the Port Bus Terminal (tickets purchased at the terminal). The drive is approximately 1 hour - we enjoyed this as we got to see another side...More

This is our 3rd visit to Woodbury after 6 years. We have visited the ones at Tokyo, Barcelona and Malaysia. There is less crowds and the discounts are not as fantastic as previously. Tho we still get good buys at Cole Hans. As for taking...More

Great shopping experience, some absolute bargains to be had. We got the bus from NYC bus terminal to Woodbury, pleasant journey and didn't seem long at all. Plenty of choice in shops to suit everyone. One thing we learnt was that we should've taken our...More

Great if you like shopping, I don't, but my wife enjoyed it. A decent variety of places to eat. Nice to get out of New York for the day.

Parking is a MESS. No free parking availability except in parking garage and this was limited. Many $10 spots available along with $15 valet spots available. Typical outlet mall quality. Some high end stores. Disappointed.

Very decent up market out of town shopping outlet. Variety of food franchises too. Some good prices to be had in some clothing shops compared to prices in UK. Trip itself on bus journey from Manhattan was worth it alone.

Each store will do promotions but there is not a set time you can expect it. Of course there are sales before holidays but special sales seem to be random. For example we hit a 70% off sale at Coach this year and it was... More

Unless the only purpose of yoru trip is to shop, then I personally think it's very foolish to spend half of your time in the city travelling out to an outlet when you can get just about everything there inside the city, without having to spend the time and money to travel all the way out there. You will almost certainly find that after paying for transportation you haven't saved any money over the discount stores in New York.
Woodbury Common Premium Outlets OR Tanger Outlet Centers? (1 Reply)
Hi could someone please give me some advise on the following: 1. between the 2 above mentioned outlet centers, which one has better deals and better quality stuff (clothes, bags, shoes etc.) 2. I will be staying in Hoboken, New Jersey, which is the nearest Woodbury outlet/ Tanger outlet to where i am staying? 3. What is the fastest way to get to the nearest woodbury/ tanger outlet? approx how long is the journey? Thanks for the help!

Outlet Shopping (5 Replies)
Hi, I am deciding to go either Outlet shopping at Las Vegas (Las Vegas Premium Outlets) or New york (Woodbury Common Premium Outlets). Anybody can give recommendation? Which one got better deal? Should i also consider the sales tax difference for both places? Thanks.

Either would be a good choice. Woodbury is a long and quite pricey bus ride from Manhattan, going there literally takes one entire day. Both are "outdoor" malls, consider the season when you decide. Visiting Woodbury in winter or the LV Premium in summer are not so great due to cold/heat. I would shop at the end of a trip, to keep from having to carry the extra weight of purchases. Consider possible excess baggage charges if you're doing a lot of shopping. I'm sure others will chime in...More
