It may be the most unique hotel I’ve ever stayed it. They converted the giraffe house into a 5 room hotel. It was decorated with the old Catskills game farm signs. Our room was spacious but lacked quality soaps and shampoo. Surprisingly there was only one role of toilet paper in the room. There a kitchen where you were able to cook breakfast, I made bacon and eggs. The old park is in a state of ruins and was fun to explore. They have goats that roam the grounds, chickens and cows. It was a nice experience

Booked The Long Neck Inn with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. It was a unique experience to stay at an old zoo turned hotel. The service was excellent. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and walking our dog (a few rooms are pet friendly) on the property.

The Old Game Farm was purchased by a young couple who are trying to open it again, but not as a traditional zoo. It is open for exploring as it has been aired on TV as one of America’s Abandoned Places. It is no longer abandoned and is being upgraded. The old giraffe house has been transformed into an upscale venue for weddings and other events. It also has lodging facilities. There is also upscale luxury camping units with private settings. It is a great place to explore. Self-guided tours are available and dates are posted on the website.

It wasn't like the Old Game Farm, nothing can ever compare to that. This is different, but the owners are doing their best. Nice place to bring the kids for a learning experience

Step back to place where you went as a child and remember all the sounds and smell from a place that made you happy. You see all the abandoned cages and gift shops but can still see all the animals that roamed the areas. It was great taking the kids to see and explain what it looked like back in the day

Spent a weekend in the fall at this lovely Inn in the Catskills. Cathy is a gracious host and exceedingly knowledgeable of the history of the Old Game Farm. The inn is impeccably decorated with memorabilia from the property giving it a nostalgic feel. Rooms are warm and cozy with all the amenities to be desired. We stayed in the elephant room.
I wish we had left more time to tour the grounds and get some hiking in. We did wander the property and explored many of the abandoned buildings which was a unique experience.
Definitely worth a visit any time of the year!

We stayed at the Tentrr wooded site, which is a remote campsite on the grounds of the Old Game Farm. We also had access to the Long Neck Inn.
Cathy and Ben are fantastic hosts. They are both very friendly and accommodating, and each answered any questions we had. Cathy was particularly knowledgeable about the history of the site, and shared with us their vision for the future.
The Long Neck Inn is beautiful. It has many modern accommodations, but it retains the look of a giraffe house. They have preserved many of the old signs from the Game Farm, which are beautiful (many are hand painted). The bathroom and kitchen facilities are gorgeous, and I enjoyed their coffee bar. We hope to be back sometime in the winter to stay at the Long Neck Inn and enjoy one of the guest rooms - I'm sure they are as beautiful as the rest of the Inn.
Our tent at the wooded site was remote, tucked into ruins from a farm that predates the Game Farm. Everything was well kept, and we enjoyed the camping experience with a few added modern conveniences.
We spent one day exploring the Old Game Farm. There are miles of trails and plenty of buildings to explore. If you're interested in Hudson Valley history, or if you visited the Old Game Farm as a kid, this is a real treat.

It was nice to spend a day hiking the old game farm. Although there are no animals most everything else is intact. It was an easy walk filled with memories and would recommend this to anyone else who frequented the park before it closed. We would have preferred to have a bathroom on site. We walked the entire park in 4 hours.

I had initially read that the couple who purchased the Game Farm was going to turn it back into a zoo at some point. Is that still going to happen or have those plans been abandoned?
