We were looking for something to do before our flight back home. It was interesting but you have to really be into boxing history to appreciate this place.

Canastota, where the Hall of Fame is located, is the home of two world champions -- Carmen Basilio and Billy Backus. The best time to visit the Hall is during induction, in early June. The Hall is not a huge place but there some really interesting exhibits, especially the casts of boxer's fists. Gloves, ring paraphernalia, a library. Definitely a... More

A little far for me, but it was exactly what I expected. The price is reasonable and the 2 employees that we meet were very helpful

Everything you wanted to know about boxing can be found here. They must have what seems like hundreds of fist castings here. You can compare your fist with some of the greatest boxing legends including the "Greatest" himself Muhammad Ali.

Maybe it's that we just visited the Baseball HOF, but this site can be covered in 1-1.5 hours. Some of the videos are excellent, and it's interesting to see the actual former Madison Square Garden boxing ring (smaller than it seems on TV). I'm glad I saw it once, but I don't see myself coming back.

If you're a big boxing fan, this is a great place to visit. Don't let the outside fool you because it is loaded with so much boxing memorabilia. My son loves boxing and he thoroughly enjoyed visiting here. Next door is another building that has the boxing ring from Madison Square Garden, a gift shop and collectibles signed by boxers....
