We spent several days in the Rochester-Buffalo area last September and devoted one day to seeing this site and the nearby Sonnenberg Gardens (reviewed separately). We were the only visitors there at the time, and the docent who showed us around (a lively and engaging...More

The tour of the grounds is guided. The docent was very knowledgeable. It can be quite warm in the carriage museum. You can walk through the rooms, which I prefer over viewing from behind a rope. If you are also going to the Sonnenberg Gardens...More

This well-maintained historical home offers a look into 1814 and how the wealthy lived on a working farm. Like many older homes, this one has served more than one function in it's lifetime, including a girl's school. One barn offers a good look at transportation...More

This is a beautifully kept home and is well worth the stop. One of my favorite times of year to visit is around the Chrismas Holiday when they have their festival of trees. Just lovely.

My wife and I spent our anniversary week in Canadaigua, enjoying the outdoors, cheeses, wines, and of course history. The Granger Homestead is impeccably maintained and beautifully furnished. The docents are excellent. The carriage collection is jaw-dropping for those interested in historic transportation.

We were fortunate to attend a Christmas Holiday craft fair hosted by the Granger Homestead. Access by bus was terrific and the variety of vendors was exceptional. The property is beautiful!
