I was driving home from work after 1am. There were few cars on the bridge but construction was still happening on the northbound side. Still great views and an easy approach towards the Cross Island Parkway in Queens.

This bridge is not attractive or unattractive. It doesn't have the same appealing history and lore as the Brooklyn Bridge or GWB. It was built in the 1930's and it certainly helps with traffic flow, but I doubt your going to take a bunch of pictures and tell your friends about the trip over the bridge. 3 stars for doing it's job of getting people from point A to Point B is a safe and expeditious manner.

The Whitestone bridge is an amazing feat of architectural design. What an expansive bridge that stretches across along body of water. We loved the color of the bridge and the smoothness of getting across from each end. There are so many bridges in the NYC area, this one is awesome

We went for a Saturday road trip to visit friends in Rye, NY. I opted to take the Whitestone Bridge over the Throggs Neck, so the kids can see the Manhattan skyline. Design wise almost identical to the Throggs Neck Bridge. On the return trip home, we're going to cross the Throggs Neck.

The Bronx-Whitestone Bridge is just west of the Throggs Neck Bridge. Both bridges are adjacent to each other. They are very similar in design. On a clear day or night, you have amazing, unobstructed views of the skyscrapers of Midtown Manhattan.
There is slightly more truck traffic on this bridge.

The Bronx-Whitestone Bridge is not too far from the Throgs Neck Bridge. I rarely cross this bridge because I always get on the Throgs Neck because it is the first bridge off the Cross Island. This bridge will take you to the Hutchinson Parkway which is a convenient route with less traffic to Westchester or upstate. The bridge is beautiful just like the Throgs Neck. I think the views are nicer from the Throgs Neck.

Driving home from a long day of work in Westchester County, I take this bridge home. There's usually extensive work on the Throgs Neck Bridge. This bridge crosses the East River connecting the Bronx to Queens.

PROS
• It is a bridge
• It goes from one place to another
• Rather functional
CONS
• Not famous
• Not magnificent to see
• Rather functional, that’s all
“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… because this was how Waze directed us from Long Island to Central Pennsylvania. See my few photos from the car and in the rain
TIPS
Use it if you have to do it.

Another of the great bridges of the New York area. Traffic was quite heavy and hard to enjoy any of the view. The cost is also high.
