Worst zoo!! Because of covid 19, they designed a unfair reservation ticket system. If you had membership with them, all weekend tickets are not available to reserve now. All Oct tickets are gone!!!! But if you purchased the normal daily tickets, you could get any. If the zoo really wants to limit the people because of covid 19. Why only limit the membership group??? what is the real reason for reservation. limit people or make more money???

I am always a bit trepidatious to visit a zoo. I am always concerned about the condition of the animals in captivity. I am happy to say that all of the animals at the Bronx Zoo seemed well cared for and reasonably happy. It was fascinating to view the three Snow Leopards up close. I know that Snow Leopards are extremely elusive in the wild and very difficult to actually see in the Himalayas. So it was very fascinating to watch them in close quarters. They are very beautiful. There are many other exciting things to experience - lions roaring, gorillas in social interaction, etc. Well worth the not inexpensive price of admission.

My wife and I went on a weekday while remote school was taking place in N.Y. This was done to avoid larger crowds so we could avoid Covid exposure as much as possible. Will also preface this review by saying my wife and I love the zoo. We have been here many times and have supported the zoo over the years as members. We were given our time slot. There are signs everywhere stating that masks and social distancing are required at all times. It wasn't long before we saw many families walking without masks. This was very disturbing to us. What was even more disturbing was that none of the staff said anything to anyone sans masks. When we complained to a staff member about this, she said that she agreed with our concerns but that the staff is now afraid to say anything because they were the victims of violence from people not wearing masks. In other words, there is no one to enforce the rules. Since the zoo was quiet, we were able to social distance the entire day. We had also decided that we would not go into any of the animal houses during our visit. We also brought our own food and drink. Picnic tables have been added around the zoo which allowed us to eat without anyone around. We still had a great time but would only go back during the quietest of times.

I have been a member for many years and love The Bronx zoo. My family goes multiple times a year. I was hesitant at first to go during this time, however I decided to go since they give you a specific time slot. I thought that by doing this the Zoo would be less crowded. When we arrived The zoo looked just as crowded as it normally would before all of these rules. There were so many people and sooooo many lines for everything it was crazy! It’s not worth standing in lines in the heat with small children while wearing masks and no social distancing. Everyone was on top of each other. I don’t see the point of specific time slots with so many people there at the same time. I left after an hour. The children’s zoo line was ridiculously long . Save your time, your money and your sanity.

There is a seal with a huge brand on its back! They say it’s because the seal was hunting endangered fish.. but why would you burn numbers into its back and have it swimming in a pool that is way too small? This needs to be addressed
