Seemed pretty dead but still some interested monuments to see. Visit in the fall and you may get to observe a real bureal or even attend a real funeral.

Celia Cruz is layed to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery. I remember like yesterday all the preparations her family and Pedro's family did to arrange for the Queen of Mambo to lay at peace. She will always be missed in my heart. She was a great inspiration to many of us hispanics

What does one say about a cemetery? Peaceful, well kept, well staffed and beautiful! I would recommend it as a final resting place or concert.

Try to sign up for a guided tour. This is one of the more interesting places, chock full of history. The Dia de Los Muertes/Day of the Dead/All Souls' Day commemorations are intriguing.

Unbelievable how beautiful Woodlawn is. Incredible mausoleums, magnificent trees, peace and quiet, birds, lovely sculptures, touching monuments to those who've passed on. Celia Cruz, Miles Davis, the Strauss's of Macy's fame, Jay Gould, Fiorello LaGuardia, Woolworth, to name a few. If you visit in the fall, you'll enjoy the gorgeous fall foliage. The map was hard to follow and the... More
