We came from Indiana to visit NYC primarily to see the whales. The crew was amazing. The trip was unforgettable. Trip of a lifetime.

My son and I were running late. After being pulled over and ticketed, and stuck in traffic on the Belt parkway (an unforgiving road), they were sympathetic and genuinely appreciative of the effort we made. We received a phone call from the company ensuring we were still coming, they held the boat the 5-10 min we were late, gave us a parking spot an employee was parked at, and greeted us w/ a smile. For everyone else on the boat this was prob a nuisance. (And we are sorry!) But for my special needs son and me (a single dad) it was a small miracle. All to often now a’day, ppl are blind to others problems. This family run business could see and hear in my voice on the phone the effort, and they opened up their collective hearts and helped me give my son an amazing day out on the water. And it was an amazing day! The staff helped us onto the boat, and greeted us w/ smiles. We found our seats and we were off! It wasn’t long before we began seeing sea creatures of all shapes and sizes. On the way out they have a naturalist explaining the area, it’s inhabitants and how years of pollution, and lately conservationists efforts have ebbed and flowed, currently leading to a resurgence of these beautiful creatures not to far away from one of the largest cities in the US. It wasn’t long after the shorelines faded away that we heard a call for dolphins at 3 o’clock. And then 5 o’clock. And then, the ooh’s and ahh’s of a captive audience as the whales began to show themselves. In total we saw 4 different whales, countless schools of dolphins, and some very large ships. What an amazing day. While they can’t control Mother Nature, this ship’s crew/family, sure helped make this magical day possible. We’ve been out on these types of boats before. We’ve seen them leave ppl that were on the docks waving, we’ve seen them treat children as annoyances. Not here! This business is family friendly, kind, and compassionate. The area is incredible. See the famed Coney Island fade away into a wall of blue and hear the animas come alive. I’ll never use another company to see the sights or animals off our shores again. This is it folks. You’ve found your ride. Now sit back and relax. Enjoy the world God intended.

This is a truly wonderful experience especially for people living in the city because it is not something you would see otherwise. The boat was spotless and the crew ensures the safety of every guest. Upon setting sail, a crew member provides not only important information about the boat, but what you can do if you are feeling sea sick what you can do to minimize it, where the life vests are located, restrooms etc. but he provided information about the waters that surround us and the living creatures within it. They ensure everyone has a chance to see the whales / dolphins. They will slowly turn the boat so everyone can see. On our trip the tide was coming in so it was a little rough ride on the way out but smooth on the way back. We attended the evening tour and it was perfect weather that day and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. We saw a mother whale and her calf, they were very active and put on a show. The boat keeps their distance as not to injure a whale of separate mom from baby. They are magnificent creatures. There is cover so if it rains you can remain dry. Parking in the area can be limited at times so give yourself plenty of time. If you think you may get motion sickness, plan ahead with Dramamine or a more natural way, specialized wrist bands. There are beverages and snacks for sale. Be sure to bring a camera.

Went with one child, one parent, and two grandparents. We all had a wonderful time. The ride out into open waters was lovely and the boat’s naturalist gave a great overview of whales and what to expect. We then encountered three whales and several dolphins. It was awesome. Overall, It’s a little pricey but worth the cost. Note: you can bring your own food/snacks, just not your own beverages (but water bottles are allowed).

Amazing day out. The whales were waving, breaching, blow holing, and just hamming it up. Staff and naturalists were great. Boat was very clean and roomy. We had the additional treat of watching many kite surfer having fun on the way back to the dock. Many good restaurants within walking distance. I am a life long Brooklynite and never heard of this trip before. Who’d of thunk! Hidden gem.
