The Hunt family has been farming west of Branchport, NY, on Keuka Lake for seven generations and started the winery in 1981. Our 170-acre farm encompasses 43 acres of wine grapes. The varieties under our care include Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Seyval Blanc, and Vignoles. We are the oldest continuous producer of genuine ice wine in the United States. Our wines have been served at the United Nations, ordered by the White House, featured in Food & Wine and on NBC's Today Show. We have nearly eliminated our fossil fuel use for heating, cooling and electricity by installing award-winning geothermal and solar systems. Our goal is to farm and make wine in ways that ensure the health of our land, water, and air for future generations.

I am no stranger to Hunt Country wine. I buy it online and take advantage of the free shipping on cases. I am a white wine drinker and if there you have to try the Vignoles and Moscato. My kids who were with us were offered grape juice that was made on site. It's my favorite winery in the Finger... More

We came with a group of 9 people and I give the woman credit for efficiently managing all of our different preferences for the tasting. She was extremely engaging and clearly loved what she was doing which made it so much more enjoyable for the rest of us. She even gave us some extra local information which was much appreciated.... So glad you had a great time and that your group enjoyed the diversity of our wines. That's our goal: to make different wines for different tastes. Hope everyone found a favorite. (By the way... Totally agree with you about our sweeter wines: they're pretty darn good. Vignoles is a long-time favorite of both family and staff.) More

I have been wanting to get here for sometime after visiting Kueka lake over the past few years and WOW so glad I finally did. The young man that helped us was GREAT he was so passionate and knowledgeable about his presentation and did it with a great smile. His demeanor made our visit. We had a group of 4... More

Hunt Country was a cool spot, and we enjoyed the wines there. Their store has some really cute gift items as well. A group of 6 came in while my husband and I started our tasting, and the woman who served us got really frazzled with that many people at one time... However, it didn’t ruin our experience. The woman... More

Because we like to visit a lot of different wineries, we do not get to Hunt Country as often as we should. We have probably been there 8-10 times in the past 20 years and always enjoy it. On our October 2016 visit we decided to try the wine and cheese pairings they were offering: four wines paired with specific... More

Thank you so much for being a long-time supporter of the winery! Very much appreciated. The 2015 Dry Riesling is one of our favorites. And, despite the bad rap that goat cheese has in general, the cheeses by Lively Run are always fantastic. More

All I can say is wow! Any winery can be ho-hum without good people running it. This was not ho-hum by any standard. The two ladies that were there when we stopped in on October 6th were so nice, so friendly and we loved them. They were retired school teachers and they made our visit perfect. We sat outside on... Visited with the family. Excellent wine tasting ($2 for 5 tastes). Good prices great people. Be sure to try their Ice Wine. Tastes like drinking liquid honey.

My sister and I had a very enjoyable time wine tasting at Hunt Country on a Saturday afternoon. It was a busy afternoon with many limo busses and the staff was apologetic to those of us in small groups. The wine selection was plentiful and the wine is very good.

I love this winery. It is small but they do have have a nice size tasting bar and now they have a little dining room where they use serve local products when available. We did not eat there so I cannot tell you about the food. Their wines are good. They were out of the drys which are my favorites... More

Really glad you enjoyed the Cream Sherry. We totally agree it's a wonderful end-of-day drink during the winter. Art has plenty of stories about falling asleep next to the woodstove while sipping some Cream Sherry after working a long day on the farm. More

On a rainy Sunday my friend and I decided to visit a few wineries. At lunch time we found ourselves at Hunt Country winery and after a tasting with an excellent pourer we were thrilled to notice their cafe. The menu looked wonderful (all organic) and the dining area was extremely inviting. When we checked out of the winery section... More

So glad you enjoyed your lunch. Our chef, Mary Campbell, always does an amazing job turning seasonal variety into a tasty menu. Not all of our ingredients are organic, but we do source organic and local as much as possible. That zucchini in the quiche? It was grown organically right here on the farm by Art and Joyce's son and... More
