I wanted a great hike and I got just that. Beautiful trail and not too treacherous. Bring water and wear proper hiking shoes. I wore flip flops and that turned out to be disastrous. I know, I'm an idiot!

Came here with family (ages 6 - 60) of differing fitness levels today. We started at the bottom and climbed up. As others have said it is a lovely forest trail beside a mountain steam. Views along the way and at the top were splendid. We opted to take advantage of the free gondola ride to the bottom if you... More

My husband and I camped in the area and visited Blue Mountain for a hike. We read reviews that the hike was a must. We arrived in the morning before it got hot, which was perfect for this moderately difficult hike. The hike started out as a leisurely walk, then we had to start climbing over rocks. Soon, it got... Beautiful Adirondacks hike through a moderate trail with a few rocky slopes. A little over an hour to the top & there you have your reward... several of the chain of lakes. Stunning.

Wonderful hike in the heart of the Adirondacks. Not terribly easy or hard--pleasant challenge for 50 year-olds. Lovely views of the forest and from the top.

It was our first hike ever-I had misread the tour guide and thought it said mild. But we made it to the top and fairly quickly-probably an hour and a half up and an hour down. It's a steep and sometimes slippery slope, can be quite challenging at times. It was absolutely beautiful at the top. Breathtaking, you can see... More

Blue Mountain stands, unique, majestic and blue at the head of the Eckford Chain of lakes. I've spent significant time every year since the 1950s communing with the thing. It's always there, steadfast, while challenging and consoling. In my many moves from town to town, house to house, I carry paintings, photos and poems of Blue Mountain. I cannot separate... More

The Prospect Point Cabins were very clean and the grounds and buildings were well taken care of. The staff were very friendly and helpful during check in and throughout our stay. We were fortunate to be able to experience the delicious breakfasts offered FREE to guests every morning. The cabin where we stayed with a designated as 'handicapped'. It worked... More

This is a classic Adirondak hike. From the trailhead, a long slow stroll through maples and oaks to the steep rocky stairs all the way to the summit. No switchbacks, here, just a classic quad-killing climb straight up. Well-covered by trees, a very pleasant hike. Bring hiking poles, water, and a fleece for the breezy summit.
