I am recommending this museum to all of my friends and family. This museum is chock full of information about the Woodstock Festival and life in the 1960s. I learned a lot about the era that I grew up in but was too young to...More
Worthwhile Museum to see. Takes you back to the 60's. Very nostalgic and interesting. Lots of interesting films throughout the exhibit. Takes you back in time. Go Downstairs to Don Hippie clothing and take photographs.
First, we walked out to the actual site before doing the museum. It is not well marked at all. Hard to figure out where the stage was but once you get oriented, you can find it. Well kept grounds.

My 17 year old son wanted to visit the museum and grounds and we decided since we all enjoy the music of the 60's we'd check it out. The museum itself was nicely done however I feel that more artifacts from the bands that performed...More
Five stars, with the first star for historical context. I love the way the museum was arranged, with an immersion into the context of the era provided well before exhibits on the actual event.
Second star is for the presentation of the events leading up...More
Take the time to check out the grounds as well as the Museum. Seeing the field where the Festival took place puts the whole experience into perspective. Imagine all those people together on a not-as-large-an-area as you might have pictured in your mind! Closet you...More

We spent a couple of hours viewing the indoor exhibits. I especially enjoyed the film in the large theatre; plan your visit around the film schedule since it doesn't play continuously. There are numerous short films in this museum; some near seating, some not. I...More
Bethel - how much time to spend in museum and other sites? (0 Replies)
We are planning an upper Hudson Valley trip this summer and wanted to add a day trip to the Museum at Bethel Woods, which seems to be a couple of hours away. How much time should we plan to spend at the museum? Is there anything else to see in the vicinity, besides the Woodstock site? Is it worth spending the night in the area? Thanks
