We enjoyed Holland Land Office Museum. There is a ton of history in the area, and they present it very well with their displays and artifacts.

There's free parking and free admittance--always a plus. It's not very big, but if you get a guided tour (we had one in the Civil War room) you could learn a lot. The curator is very amiable and is full of knowledge--she REALLY loves what she is doing. The one problem is, like many other small museums, it doesn't open... More

Def. stop by when you are in town. Nice little museum with lots of history. Sits right next to the Tondawanda Creek and a nice walk to the little falls.

We had a guided tour and wow! We had the new, young director take us around and he spoke adoringly about the history of the land office and the artifacts and history associated with it! You talk about interesting! This was one of the best little museums I have visited in a long time. The history of Western NY opened... More

Our area is full of history. History that should and is being shared at the Holland Land Office in Batavia, NY. Stop in even if you live in the local area. It will be worth your time.

This is truly a hidden gem and loaded with a nice variety of historical items. Everyone visiting this small city should check this out. I love the cobblestone building.

Located right on Main Street, just a mile from thruway exit. Free admission. Loaded with memorabilia, and is right next to the War of 1812 Peace Garden. It is well worth the stop.

This museum is well laid out and has a lot of great artifacts. It is in a magnificent building. A bonus is that they offer lots of info about other attractions in the area.

Stepping back in time, seeing artifacts of 1800s. Learning from attendants about NYS history, ex how the land was purchased. Our favorite exibit was an authentic jail house complete with bizarre "true stories " of some of its "guests" and their fate.
