A great winery where you can sit on the patio and enjoy a wonderful glass of white, red or...chocolate (?!?) wine. The river canyon is gorgeous! Drive up towards Taos and make sure you drive on the Taos scenic byway for the most eautiful views in New Mexico.
The chocolate red wine "Black Beauty" is really, really good! You're sure to admire the beautiful artwork on each bottle's label.
Enjoy!

We went to the tasting room in Taos in 2014 but this was our first time at the winery. We were the first customers of the day and Craig gave us his full attention. We ordered a flight and he brought us an extra sample that we hadn't chosen just because he really wanted us to try it. He also brought another sample when we were done that we had been talking about but not chosen for our flight.

Although Craig had apparently been our bartender in Taos 8 years ago, we didn't remember that until reading that review. Just like then, he is a great conversationalist and we thoroughly enjoyed spending that time tasting his wines (he is the winemaker) and talking food and wine with him.

The wines, the atmosphere, the staff at Black Mesa…all outstanding!! Craig, our wine stewart was so friendly and knowledgeable. He made us feel like locals even though it was our first visit. We enjoyed our visit so much and hope to return one day soon!

I've always love their red wines. The Pinot Noir is my absolute favorite. The Black Beauty chocolate dessert wine is a close second. Friendly staff, down to earth and knowledgeable. A bit out of the way unless you're driving from Santa Fe to Taos, then right on the road. The cats will greet you and make you smile.

This was the second winery we stopped at during our drive doing the Low Road from Taos to Santa Fe. They are open until 7 pm which suited us well since we had a late afternoon start.

You pick any 6 wines on the menu, which was quite exensive. Our host was very friendly and knowlegeable about wines. We espcially enjoyed the zinfadel, it was very smooth. We also tried the Barbera, which had such fruit forward nose with a spice finish. It is very different from all the Barbera we've ever had.

Since other people liked the Black Beauty sweet wine, we tried that last. It didn't go with what we had, so perhaps we didn't give it a chance.

The tasting room is super inviting and fun. With many merchandise to purchase. Some unique! Outdoor patio area is also beautiful. This is a great place to visit.

The tasting room is cool, and the stewards as well. They probably have the best wines in New Mexico, but the chocolate caliente rocks. Chocolate and chili in wine ... how bad can that be. It is a dessert wine, but not sweet ... and their Cab is greatness.

This one hit all the right notes. Delicious wines, great people to educate you on the deliciousness in your glass, and a lovely spot on the highway.

Stopped here on our way to Taos. Great place to stop. They have many good wins. But we choose the reds. We were not disappointed. Our server Scott his wines and Aldo a lot of the local area. They also can ship to many states.
