The Fetchin house is quite interesting if you haven't been there. The art display was rather limited and we have seen better there. Fairly expensive admission and the studio wasn't open.

This is one of the most interesting museums/homes we have ever visited. The visit was made much more special by the docent who gave a free tour of about 30 minutes. The house is just an amazing home with wood carved furniture and doors that...More

The house was hand built by the artist Fechin over approximately a 6 year period and is richly embellished with carved details and furniture. The nearby studio is also worth the visit. While building the house Fechin also produced paintings representative of his Russian training...More

The architecture alone is worth the price of admission. The carving on the interior has so much attention to detail. There are cubbies, nooks and crannies throughout. The art is worth seeing and the story of the home and the Fechin family is certainly interesting....More

Home to a small art gallery, we were less interested in the art and more interested in the house itself. Nicholai Fetchin was born in Russia, immigrated to New York City in 1923, and moved to Taos in 1927 where he built this house for...More

The Taos Art Museum at Fechin House is a must stop for any visitor of Northern New Mexico who has a free afternoon. The building is beautiful and the art really lets you see what the early "pioneer artists" saw when they settled here.
