The Solar Center offers a bar with a pleasant atmosphere and a stunning view of the Sangre de Cristos. Beer is great in a friendly casual atmosphere. An added bonus is some of the best radio in northern New Mexico on 101.9 which can be heard from all over the valley as far south as Espanola.

I walked into this place not knowing what to expect. And I was not disappointed. Located on the corner to the ski valley with lots of parking, this place has a unique vibe. I was impressed when I walked through the halls to get to the bar/restaurant and saw all the eye-candy. When I got to the seating area and... More

KTAOS is beloved amongst locals for great concerts and the radio station. We appreciate so much about them including the Lost in Hound Report, Trash and Treasures, good music, fine DJ's, community service, run by locals for locals and being Solar of course. That said, the bar, floor and kitchen can be so badly managed or short staffed during (indoor)... More

So many special things going on - always call or check the website. Music, TV, friends, drinks, food - this place has it all. Live performances, movies, you name it. KTAOS has it in their sprawling complex!

This radio station does so much for the community, that I support them by going to events a few times a year. I have to say, the quonset/arched music area is a weird atmosphere. Feel like I'm in a bunker. The crowd, the food, and the convivial atmosphere almost make up for it. But...maybe we should launch a fundraiser to... More

While in Taos, we decided to check out KTAOS. We had looked on their website prior to departing for New Mexico, and it did not appear that they were having any live music on either of the days we would be in Taos. However, when we stopped in (around 4pm), the bartender mentioned that there would be a free performance... More

Great place to go grab some drinks & enjoy some good music. Live music almost every week ranging from reggae to rock. Incredible views of the Taos mountains, not to mention the glorious sunsets! Staff extremely courteous & attentive. Not to mention that you can see through the glass windows into the solar powered radio stations! Great place to bring... More

This is the greatest place ever! Live music events, the radio station, bar and food with both indoor and outdoor seating, great food and friendly staff. I was here for Holiday parties and had a blast! It's right down the hill from the ski resort too!

I have reviewed the Solar Center before and gave it a very positive review. Tonight, however, my opinion changed. We attended an concert event, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, and this review is not meant to disparage the orchestra. They were fabulous. The musicianship and the harmonies, unequaled. It was the management of the event that was a real disappointment. We... More
