About
Opened in 2014 by the Doth family, The Cork & Kettle is proud to be Ruidoso's friendliest gourmet food and wine shop! We are a sister-location to Heart of The Desert Pistachios & Wine. With almost 50 years under its belt, Heart of The Desert is New Mexico's oldest and largest producing pistachio farm. Through our experience working on and with the farm, we got to know lots of other small-batch, specialty producers from around New Mexico and the rest of the country. Just like us, they all had a story, a passion, and a product to share. We enjoyed their goods on our own table and learned that eating gourmet doesn't have to be complicated. With that in mind, we set up shop and picked our favorite flavorful findings to enjoy with you. And enjoy, we do! We love when you stop by for a glass of wine or a game of checkers by the coffee bar. We love answering your questions and hearing your suggestions. We do this for you, and we hope you enjoy it too.

Great place for a glass of wine in a relaxed mature atmosphere. Gourmet food selection is a great place to find special gifts.

We make sure we stop here every time we visit. Great wine selection. Tasting is free, glasses are around $4 and most bottles are around $12. They also sell nice stuff for decorating the house and kitchen, along with gourmet kitchen items and great cheeses. It's family run and they are delightful people. Nothing better than doing a tasting, buying a glass, and picking out your favorite cheese from of the fridge. Plenty of tables in the back to relax, unwind, and socialize.

Hidden in back of a shopping area, find the couch, glass of wine, coffee or beer, and relax. Great cheeses. By the way, women will find all sorts of higher end snacks, jellies, jams, pistachios, etc. Thanks Hannah!

Thank you for your review. Even though we do have many of the same products...especially Heart of the Desert Pistachios and Wine, we do carry a lot of different products. Those range from many different food items including cheeses, spice mixes, sauces, Bee Chama Honey, pastas and many other products. We also carry a range of different wines including the Lescombes family of wines from Southwest Wines. We also a have a fully stocked walk-in humidor with some of the best cigars available in the US. Also available are many different wine accessories as well as items for the home and kitchen and a selection of antique lamps. Thanks for stopping and we hope to see you again.

Cute store in Ruidoso. Their specialities are wine and pistachios. They offer a free wine tasting of their own wines from vineyards near Alamogordo, NM including their Pistachio Rose. The shop also sells their fabulous pistachios in several flavors. In addition, the store carries pastas, bread mixes, and cigars.
The shop owners Mark and Laura are so nice. This is a must stop while in Ruidoso. Enjoy a glass of wine by the fireplace.

Last time I looked, Ruidoso, New Mexico, was not situated in the Eastern United States. I'll plead guilty: I was on vacation. Yes, they let me out of cage every once in a while. But even while recreating -- actually, espeially when recreating -- I had to sample the vintages in the oldest wine-making state in the U.S.A.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem one day and now I try to go in every weekend we're in Ruidoso! They have a gourmet selection of oils, food and snacks! Want to have a picnic while in Ruidoso; The Cork & Kettle is the place to fill your basket with delicious wine and cheeses, throw in some crackers and you have a wonderful picnic lunch! Want to sample some great wines with your girl friends--The Cork & Kettle has wine sampling and a nice quiet section to sit and visit over a glass of your favorite newly discovered wine! I recommend the Heart of the Dessert white sweet wines; so smooth and delectable! Truly a hidden gem that few people know about that should be on everyone's must visit list while in Ruidoso!

The staff was very helpful in selections to try. I was with a group of four. Two of us liked sweet whites wines, one liked dry reds, and the other had never done a wine tasting. The staff did an excellent job on assisting all of us. The tasting was free. We ended up buying 2 bottles from them and will probably order more for home delivery in the future.

My husband and I drove to Heart of Desert vineyard and Pistachio farm in Alamogordo while in Ruidoso a few years ago so I was very happy to find this lovely shop owned by the daughter of vineyard/farm owners! Saved us the one hour trip! I sampled their wines and the Chardonnay and Cab Sav are among the best I’ve ever tasted! The store has a huge variety of their pistachios in all sorts of flavors and package sizes! Plus a huge selection of flavored oils and vinegars! I could’ve spent hours in the store! And there’s a sofa for bored husbands and cold beer for purchase too!
They served my four-legged kiddo a biscuit and bowl of water on the patio! Plan for a visit, expect to stay!

So glad you found us, Patti! We've enjoyed having the opportunity to bring Heart of The Desert up the mountain, so we're happy to hear we saved you a trip. Stop by for a glass of wine with us again soon! We'll have the patio ready for your four-legged kiddo and the sofa pillows fluffed. Bring the whole fam and stay a while!
