The Roswell tour isn't just about UFO's. My wife isn't a believer, but she went one the tour to please me. She enjoyed it as much as I did because of all the trivia learned about the town, beyond UFOlogy related info. Dennis has a lot of pictures and trivia of the era of the incident in 1947. He's just as much a skeptic as a believer in some of the stories that has been told about the UFO incident. He's quite passionate about getting to the truth, no hype or drama. He doesn't try to convince anyone of anything, just tells what he knows. One fact that has finally been admitted to by our government is the 1947 incident was not a weather balloon incident, they changed their story. This is clear evidence the government lies to the public, and it may be for a good reason. The truth may never be known, but Dennis is trying to learn the truth. If you're thinking about taking this tour, do it soon, as Dennis will likely retire next year, 2021.

We had planned to go on the tour Tuesday March 17. We are in the elder population group and decided Saturday that we should start back to Colorado in our RV. I called Dennis to just let him know that we were canceling our tour and why. I told him that I totally understood their cancelation policy. He said he would contact the company that books the tours to see if they would give us a refund. I told him that if they that would be great but if they didn't that was fine too. I got an email this afternoon stating that my purchase had been refund. Very surprised and glad to see tgere are still companies with integrity.

Dennis does an excellent job, not only in recounting Roswell's UFO history, but also in adding other interesting local information.

With the UFOs, I knew very little about it, other than the name "Roswell" and Dennis provided just the right among of interesting information and site-seeing opportunities to give me a very pleasant and enjoyable morning.

I called to reserve a trip in October and was advised that they were not giving tours during that time, I e-mailed back asking for a recommendation of some p[laces we could visit to get the feel of what his tours were about. I received a reply telling me to get a guidebook. Not very friendly.

Can't blame them because they are not giving tours or if their tours are sold out. But when they are closed, it is not much to spend five or ten minutes to send an e-mail outlining something for us to do when we were in Roswell. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Rich, I am very sorry that my response to your request for an itinerary for your trip to Roswell was not satisfactory. Because we are a tour operator, and not a consulting company, we don't specialize in itineraries of Roswell. We value customer service and kindness above all and it is my deepest regret that you perceived my response as anything less than helpful. Sincerely, Cindy Popp

Scripted drive tour. Watch his YouTube lectures and you'll get all info word for word. Asking questions throws off his timing and annoys him. He told my mother-in-law to shut up and let him talk. He shoved his binder in my wife face and asked if she wanted to give this tour. He has no patients or people skills.
The attached pic is him pissed that we are taking photos and not moving fast enough for him. Yep he said tour would take about 2 hours. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes. Denis I'm sorry we wasted 15 minutes of your time and 2 hours of ours.

We're sorry you had a bad experience on our tour. Dennis' version of the events during the tour differs significantly than yours. BTW - watching Dennis' lectures on YouTube is in no way a similar experience to the Roswell UFO Tour.

I take a "city tour" at every stop I make in my travels around the U.S.. Dennis Balthaser's tour was the best I've been on. His knowledge goes beyond the U.F.O. incident. His tour includes highlights of the town history. On the UFO side - I can't imagine anyone who would have more research based knowledge. He loves what he does and the time we spent with him was a pleasure.

No, Dennis Balthaser won't show you any space aliens (although while driving around the city with him we did see a few characters who might have been space aliens in disguise), but what you will get is a most-informative discussion of the Roswell incident by an authority on the subject. Be forewarned, though, that by the time you are through, you will probably have more questions than answers!
In addition to telling of the UFO incident and his research into it, Dennis takes guests on a tour of the city, showing historical sites, recommending grand places to eat and which museums it is worth your time to visit.
Well worth your time.

We visited Roswell for a couple of days in August and took an afternoon tour from Dennis with our 16 year old son. On the positive side:

Dennis was extremely friendly and knowledgeable particularly towards our son. He was right on time with a very nice vehicle and could not have been more welcoming and professional. The tour was around 3 hours and covered several areas of the city, the UFO story and the airport.

The tour was about 50% about UFO's and 50% about Roswell itself: its history and its current commercial aircraft salvage operation at Roswell's airport (this was of particular interest to us).

The only negative I can say is, and it's not REALLY a negative: you don't actually visit the crash site. IIRC, it's on private land and not accessible to the public.

Recommended without hesitation.

I was a bit skeptical because I'm not a UFO chaser, but this was so much more. Dennis is a fantastic tour guide. Our two hour drive around the city was filled with the history of Roswell and its part in history and we saw and learned things that we would never had known otherwise just by being in town for a few days. Everything from the wild west to the space program, notable buildings and activities, and of course some of the "Roswell incident". His research into all of it and his knowledge is amazing. He limits the tours to four people at a time so there is lots of personal interaction and time for questions. If you have four people, the price is well worth it. The price is the same whether there is 1 of you or 4. Loved every minute. Be sure to bring your camera. There are 3 brief stops to get out of the car and look at some things close up but hardly any walking involved.

We were really excited for our tour with Roswell UFO Tours! When we arrived in Roswell earlier than expected, we called Dennis to ask if we could move our tour to that afternoon. We left a message asking if an earlier tour was available that day, if not we’d be waiting at our normal time tomorrow morning.

The next morning, we drove to the meeting spot and waited until 9:00, when our tour was supposed to start. After a few minutes, no one had showed up so we called Roswell UFO Tours to confirm we were still on for our tour today. Unfortunately our tour had been cancelled! Dennis told us he got our message from Sunday, but we didn’t get a reply. Even though another company handles the booking for him, he should have told us our tour had been cancelled when he got the message so we weren’t stuck there waiting.

It turns out they had to cancel over 40 tours because of a city licensing issue. Somehow, canceling our reservation had been missed by the booking agent. After finding this out, we left them a voicemail about our canceled tour and they promptly refunded our payment along with an apology for overlooking our reservation.

We were so sad that we couldn’t do this tour! It was the main reason we visited Roswell and hopefully they will get all their “legal” issues resolved soon so they can resume giving tours.
