So charming

Visiting Roswell for the first time with my young daughter and we spent the morning enjoying this zoo. It is small but the animals felt really close (especially the roaming peacocks), and alert. They are still doing some adding on, some exhibits not filled yet but I enjoyed our time there, and my daughter definitely did. She road the carousel several times and afterwards we shared one of the best snow cones! There are nice shade trees all through the park, lots of places to sit in the shade to cool/relax. What’s more, the staff are all super polite! They made it more enjoyable 10x because they were so considerate.
Fair warning: you do have to purchase tickets ahead of time, but it’s super easy. You can do it from their website and we got in almost 15mins after booking.

Employees are fantastic!

If I could give this more stars I would!

When I heard their were updating the zoo my expectations were low. I am so happy to say I was completely wrong. They have vastly improved many areas! (The areas that haven't been improved yet WILL BE) its a thirty something acre zoo I'm impressed with how much they have accomplished so far! I'm so excited to see what it will look like in 1 or 2 years as more areas get improved!

All of the employees were above and beyond nice and had great energy throughout the entire day! (We spent the entire day there from open to close) I spoke with who I think was a supervisor and she said they were short staffed and doing their best and I let her know they were all doing such a great job I never would have thought they were short staffed that day!

Of course some of the exhibits are still lacking alot but I had such a great experience thanks to those employees that I bought a hat and I want to tell everyone I know to support the zoo!

Larger than appears

Small zoo in the city limits. Friday is free; otherwise $3.00 per adult. More to see than it appears from outside. Must get tickets online at "Holdmytickets.com". Worthwhile to see.

Delightful Find on our Daily Hike

What a great surprise to find a peacock, ducks, geese and a vintage carousel. At Christmas and in the summertime, the children’s train circles the park.

Really can not complain as it is free. Pretty decent little zoo, very clean and animals all looked healthy and well cared for.

Great afternoon activity for young children
Nov 2019 • Family
We took our 2 young children as a last minute let’s go to town and do something deal. Nothing appropriate was playing at the theater, so I looked to trip advisor to see other options...bam the zoo... and it’s free... what? So we drove an hour to see it... and it was totally worth it. Not a lot of animals but just the right amount to keep our kids engaged and about the time their energy and attention span started to waiver, we were done!

Best of all the was the native exhibit, we live in the country and mountain lions are a threat, it was awesome for them to get to see a real mountain lion up close.

Fun way to spend an afternoon!

This museum is free! Whoever heard of a free zoo? I had three kids with me ages 3,7,and 10. All of us enjoyed the exhibits. The zoo is adjacent to a park as well. Bring a bottle of water and/or a picnic lunch and enjoy a few hours outside.

Small zoo

Wasn’t a huge zoo but we enjoyed the train ride and carousel. We walked through very fast because it was sooo hot. We aren’t used to New Mexico heat.

We had a great time while exploring the zoo portion of the park. For being a free park depending on donations I feel they have done a good job. I was surprised by the variety of animals the have. My kids we're amazed of the size of some of the birds. We came to town to do the whole "Alien" experience and stumbled upon this great park. It's worth a stop after checking out the alien attractions in town. Our kids loved it.
