RMAC is a great museum: I was especially excited by the Hurd/ Wyeth collection. I have always enjoyed the Wyeth family art collections (especially the NC Wyeth Chadds Ford connection). I never knew the story of Peter Hurd moving from New Mexico to Chadds Ford and studied under NC Wyeth; he married Wyeth's daughter Henriette and they returned to New... More

I visited this museum while on a business trip in Roswell. The art was fair. Lots of rooms. Too much modern art for my taste, but the surprise gem was the Goddard section devoted to Robert Goddard who pioneered modern rocketry. His earlly 1900's workshop is perfectly displayed showing how he worked and created his rockets. It's amazing to see... More

We visited Roswell just to say we'd been there. The UFO Museum turned out not to be worth a stop, but the Roswell Museum & Art Center is a top-notch small regional museum. It has interesting exhibits of New Mexico and South Western art, along with a surprising amount of artifacts from Robert Goddard's life and pioneering work in rocketry.... More

I had no idea how big this museum was until I entered. I then wish I had gotten there an hour earlier. They have a great gift shop and lots of good visuals from various artists.

If in Roswell for the day, definitely worth a stop. Interesting and well put together displays with a nice variety of history, art and folk art. It is easy to find along the Main Street of attractions with parking easy even for an RV.

Wasn't sure whether to visit museum or not. So glad we did. Very reasonable price and museum was very large. If a skeptic before, after visiting you will question whether it is true or not. Very interesting!

Roswell is known for Aliens, but there is so much more history than that. The RMAC tells a lot of that lesser known history. There is a workshop that you can walk thru that tells the story of Robert Goddard, the father of Rocketry plus an exhibit dedicated to NM native son and Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt. Along with... More
