Rebekah writes online regularly about works available for purchase and is always ready to explain the their history and provenance of works. Highly recommended!

Gallery full of southwest treasures, from jewelry, pottery, carvings, blankets, and exceptional artwork, both current and past! Family has generations of the business in their blood, and location is next to Ranchos Church!!

We never miss a stop in this first class art gallery. one of a kind. An eclectic mix of what is best about modern art, folk art , and Pueblo and Navajo art. But so much more. usually on the way to The Santa Fe Opera or return. We lunch in Taos, but buy our art in Rancho de Taos from this gallery.

The Best of All New Mexico's Trading Posts & We have Visited A Huge # of Them!

We have been visiting this Trading Post for nearly every one of the 20 years...except for a couple of "The Covid" years. Even then, we checked their website and conversed with them on the phone...had a couple of purchases shipped to us.

The family that runs the Trading Post have done a stellar job...providing a gorgeous, clean & expanded Trading Post to display all the top quality goods they obtain from Native Artists. The art they offer is superb and the prices more than fair.

Comparing all of the NM Trading Posts, we rate this one #1 for selection, quality, service above all HONESTY!.

we Love this gallery, the highest level of taste and craftmanship- Gabe and family have very deep roots in the community and we have had fascinating conversations with them about the land and why it produces such amazing art. If we heard that one of our artists had new work in the gallery we would pack the car and start driving from Minnesota immediately. Skip Santa Fe , come here first.

Skip downtown Taos art galleries and come here first to browse a great collection of regional paintings, pottery and basketry. Gallerists are very knowledgeable about the artworks on sale and we now have some new favorite artists from there that we will add to our collection.
After browsing the collection and buying new artwork at Chimayo Trading del Norte, also enjoy the adobe church San Francisco de Asis that shares the same plaza.

This gallery has an amazing variety of high quality art of the Southwest: textiles, jewelry, oil paintings, pottery, photographs, sculpture, kachinas, baskets. If you are interested in any of these categories you definitely have to visit Chimayo Trading. They have the best.

A Gem of a Gallery

Chimayo Trading del Norte is a must Taos stop for southwestern art, history, and ambiance. It's in a plaza with a historic church painted by Georgia O'keeffe. My wife and I were pleased with the quality of the art and the knowledge of the owners.
