We are route66 fans and decided to do the short drive from Albuquerque to Moriarty. Archie Lewis was mentioned on Trip advisor so we decided to visit. So glad we did Archie is a great character and my maiden name was Lewis so I loved the cars with it on the side especially the blue pie wagon
The highlights though were Archie's dogs Levi and Red. Especially Red who when wanting a treat sounds as if she is saying 'I want one '. Worth going just to hear her. Great half day trip from Albuquerque.

Mr Lewis has a huge storage area filled with numerous old cars. Many have been restored, and there are hundreds more outside the building.

His hours are 10-5 daily, 10-4 in winter months. At $4 admission, you should stop in if you have any interest in old cars or toys.

His collection has been featured in a nearby newspaper and in several magazines. Mr Lewis is very friendly and eager to share his collection. I have an interest in old pedal cars, especially fire engines, and he opened another bay to show me some.

Go if you have any time and interest - we loved it!

For fans of Route 66 and old car buffs, a must see.An incredible collection of American cars from the early days to the 1960s. About 30-40 fully restored cars inside, and hundreds and hundreds of cars, trucks, tractors and parts scattered around the yard. No admission, donation requested (DONATE!) To get an idea of the scale of the yard, look on Google Maps or other program at 35.005642, -106.026954.

The owner was friendly, and you're free to wander the grounds unbothered. I'm really surprised this place is not more know and popular. Google the name, there are numerous articles printed on Mr. Lewis and his collection.

Don't miss making friends with the owner and his dogs. The vehicles and toys are wonderful to see and enjoy. Nothing fake or glitzy and pretend here. Don't miss this museum if you are taking a drive on Route 66.

I stopped here whilst travelling on Route 66. Truly outstanding. Well worth stopping. The $4 admission fee was money well spent. I could have stayed for hours. But couldn't
Archie, the owner is an amazing guy. His collection of cars and toys has taken him years to amass. He's very knowledgable on everything he has.
A must see place. Highly recommended.

We stopped off at the museum on our way from Tucumcari to Albuquerque, and so glad we did. It's basically a warehouse filled with old classic cars and trucks, as well as toys. Also, a large property filled with old rusted vehicles. A really amazing collection. But the draw is Archie. My wife and I chatted with him for almost an hour, and it was endlessly fascinating. This is the kind of stop that keeps bringing me back to Route 66. Simply put, first hand accounts of personal experiences and history in the area from a friendly and welcoming guy like Archie is unforgettable. I've had a lot of great stops on The Mother Road, and this is up there with the best.

Seeing what to do in Moriarty, saw on TripAdvisor on Lewis's Auto Museum - came to see and Mr Lewis greeted us - donation is $4 - go in and I fell in love looking around the place - came across a black 1955 Thunderbird which I fell so much in love - if only I could have it :) old toys and collectibles - talking to Mr Lewis how he started collecting - had such a wonderful conversation with him and his dog Levie is his right hand canine - came to me and I pet him - later he brought out his other dog which I pet too - had my dog with us - at first they didn't want nothing to do with each other but kinda got along - Mr Lewis is cool with taking pictures with him - he can't understand why people want to take a picture with him - he is a very friendly person you can get along so good - conversations a must - had a wonderful conversation with Beth - she is a very cool person to have a conversation with - come by and check out his museum and enjoy.

This place is incredible, reminded of my youth, wandering around car scrap yards. If you want to step into the past, and see the motoring life of the past, it is there.

Arche Lewis says he has been collecting cars and toys since he was 9 years old and I don't think he has ever gotten rid of anything. This is an amazing place off I-40 a little bit east of Albuquerque. So many cars from Model Ts thru the 60's and so many toys from my childhood. Although there is no fee, he expects a donation and we felt it was well worth it.

This place has it all. Inside has pristine and restored vehicles but my amazement lies outside where there are literally a thousand or more vehicles, including boats complete with old outboards mounted on the back, tractors, combines, and cars and trucks of all kind and sizes. They are in various stages of deterioration and that alone is an amazing photo opportunity. For some reason, the word hasn't spread about this gem, but that's not all bad because there are no crowds!
