Be sure to drive around. I drove in to the first boat dock area and it was packed with kids and lots of people and the water was a little murky looking with a lot of water plants. Too crowded for me. I like the south side best, not so crowded and the water seems clearer on that side. Its... More

2nd largest lake in NM. Offers numerous types of fish to fish for. Boating, jet skiing, tubing, skiing and other water activities. Holidays are extremely busy (thousands) but it is always a good time.

We live in the area and spend a ton of time at the lake in the summer. You can find plenty to do here, swimming, fishing, hiking trails, camping, etc.

After driving across the Oklahoma and Texas tabletop smooth prairie, it was a pleasant site to see Ute Lake emerge from the desert scrub. We are here in the off season and there was no staff present. Self-Check In at the campground was relatively understandable. Don't go barefoot! Watch out for the spiny "nettles" that get lodged in your footwear,... More

We're only a an hour away it's a nice place to go with family and friends. We got at least once a year. Pop-up camper/RV hook ups, nice clean bathrooms.

Ute Lake is located near Logan, NM. It is one of the best and closest lakes for those of us in the Texas panhandle. The lake is good sized. Has RV hookups, primitive and developed camping sites. There are showers, restrooms and running water. There is a nice large covered playground. For those that do not want to camp there... More

several boat ramps, easy in and out, they also have tons of camping off the lake, and a great 4th of July fireworks display

As a native Oregonian I was very unimpressed with the shallow lake, nothing much to see. Glad we went once but will never return.

Peaceful and calm with beautiful rock colors and water in the lake! Went boating and caught a few fish but ended up spending time boat-floating and renewing my spirit. We had fun learning to golf. Love the quaint element mixed with nice eateries and fun restaurants. Not far from Albuquerque (3 hours) and worth the trip.
