This was a great surprise. We found this park on the trip back home. It was almost empty. There were plenty of sites and views of the lake are breathtaking. The bathroom was clean but shower water was cold.
My wife, dog and I spent six days renting a home just off of the shore of Ute Lake. There are not many lakes in New Mexico at all so the lake was the main attraction. Unlike a number of the other larger lakes in...More

Me and my son went to Ute Lake this past Labor Day weekend. We had such a good time. The lake is beautiful and a very good size. The best part was the camp hosts, Mickie and her husband Manuel. They made it so welcoming...More

We have come to Ute Lake every year for several years. It’s a great place for families to go boating, skiing, fishing, tubing, and swimming. Prices are very reasonable and the grounds are kept nice and clean. The locals are friendly and the businesses appreciate...More

And locals don't hush their barking dogs and leave them unattended.
Close to lake not really swimming friendly....More

The park is set up with sites close to the water but not right in a beach area. I have seen people pitch a tent and park an RV close to the water, but it might be a good idea to discuss your site choice with a park official. Right now the lake level is high, so "beaches" may be difficult to locate. Note: The park does not officially advertise a "beach" site or sites, but obviously such areas exist.
