If you're into space stuff and memorabilia, spend some time here and at the adjacent museum. No entry fee. Lady working there was enthusiastic and enjoys hearing/telling visitors' stories about how they are affiliated with space programs.

We were visiting Las Cruces and we saw these painted water tanks all around. They were all different and quite interesting to see. We enjoyed them very much. We even used one as a landmark to find our way back to our hotel. This is...More

Each water tank mural tells a different story about the area. So much nicer than seeing a big, ugly brown tank. Wish more places would do something like this. Kudos to the amazing artist for his wonderful and inspiring work!

We only experience two different murals but each one was unique in its own way. Not your normal drabness water tank.

Was pleasantly surprised that a functional item such as a water tank could be a great canvas for art. Each water tank has a different mural.

The Organ Mtns are to the East, but the Water Towers, all painted by the same family, really have helped us orient ourselves since we moved finally to LC

We went on a “hunt” to find the water tank murals. A local artist, Anthony Pennock, has painted some of the city water tanks and they are beautiful. The mural that represents space exploration is off of Nasa Rd on the I70 going east. There’s...More

The water tanks on the North side of Las Cruces are painted with a beautiful muriel. Conquistadors, horses, desert colors. It was the first city water tank I ever saw that was painted, and I now think all water tanks should be painted. It is...More
