This is a wonderful university in a small town of about 100,000 people. Great, caring and hard working teachers, and a lovely campus.

The entrance to the parking lot for NMSU basketball games has huge pot holes at the entrance. Should be easy to fix with a few scoops of blacktop but it has not happened! The traffic designer had not considered simple way to avoid clearing the parking lots. Especially bad congestion happens at the handicapped lot outside of the Pan American venue. Why not allow exit traffic to flow to the right rather then force all to go left!

Large and well-maintained university campus, and beautiful! Park at one end and walk up to the other end and back again. Bring your camera. Of course, I'm prejudiced...I attended the university and have many fond memories of it, even though it's much bigger and has a much larger student body than when I attended back in the '60s.

I attended my niece's graduation ceremony on May 2018. The arena (basketball) is huge and easy access to get in and out.NMSU faces the A Mountain and it is a beautiful view. I enjoyed my visit. Las Cruces has some of the best restaurants to eat Mexican food. They serve Hatch chile at all of their restaurants and it so delicious. I recommend that you visit Las Cruces when you travel to the Southwest.

If you have any questions at all about chile peppers, Scoville ratings, etc. then you have to stop by the Chile Pepper Institute in Gerald Thomas Hall. Not only will you get all your questions answered and able to sample a few exotic peppers, but you can get a may to the relatively close research garden they maintain. Our grand daughters found it entertaining seeing all the varied colors the peppers can be. And it's free.
