Best restaurant around the area! The food is amazing; I have been here several times and the food comes out SO tasty! Very well done menu. They have a great view in the restaurant and a great wine and beer selection. Definitely a must try.

Wow, by far the best course in Las Cruces. Fairways and green in excellent shape. The staff at this course is also very friendly and helpful. The other courses in town don't compare to this course. I am an LPGA Epson Tour caddie and see and or play 50+ courses a year and this is one of my favorite tracks.

This was a wonderful track. The course is beautiful, tough and scenic. Conditioning is top of the line and the staff are very friendly. I play an average of 60 rounds a year and this was a first rate experience and excellent value. A must play if traveling in the Las Cruces area.

Traveling and needed to rent clubs. Staff nice enough. Rental set had dented driver, 2 9 irons, no Pitch, no Sand, but did have a 60 degree. Course is in rough shape, except for the excellent greens. Everything is under repair (all 18 holes). Sand traps are definitely troublesome, as only 1 trap actually had wet sand in it. Fairways were challenging, but all had a patchwork of bare dirt with staff laying sod around the approach edges. You may want a hold off on this one for a while.

What a tough course and in such excellent shape. The fairways were lush and the greens smooth but did not hold on even high lofted shots. The pace was a little slow(5.5hrs) for a tournament, but that's "par". The clubhouse is too small in my opinion, which is made up for the excellent customer service. The food is good. Cart prices are expensive for beverages. Daily fees are acceptable.

It is a beautiful course and maintained very well. However, I found it frustrating to play there as a woman. I couldn't possibly reach any hole in regulation and if it was a par 4, my 3rd shot had to be with a long iron or wood onto the green, rather than a chip or pitch. They really need to put in a more forward tee. My husband also found it too long for him and he is a very long hitter!

Nice layout. Well maintained. Excellent greens. Very well guarded with numerous sand traps and water. Quite challenging from the tips. Definitely a players course for shot selection. Large landing areas if you can keep it straight. Some interesting blind spots. Stay out of the rough. Rattle snake warnings everywhere. Great view of the area and the Organ Mountains.

We played this course for the first time on a weekend visit to Las Cruces. It was our first time playing this course. We played the front 9 and truly enjoyed it. The staff was very accommodating, kind and helpful - they met us in the parking lot with carts. The course was beautiful. I am not a big fan of the desert so as we were driving up through the desert I wondered what we were going to....but then we got to the course and it is beautiful. Green grass, water/ponds. Impressive course. We had a great time and truly enjoyed. We would play here again. We played New Mexico State University Course on the same trip and Red Hawk was much nicer, friendlier staff and a more difficult course.
Red Hawk has great views of the mountains.
We also visited their clubhouse and had a cocktail. The bartender made me one of the best margaritas I had in New Mexico.
The pro shop staff is super nice and helpful.

Made a tee time 5 days in advance and when we showed up the greens were being punched and only 9 crowded holes were open. That would have been nice to know in advance, so alternate plans could have been made. When we got to the 1st hole, others were placed in front of us because they had tee times. When we figured out what was going on that was annoying, because we had tee times, but were not on the list.
Course is tough but monotonous, all holes look alike, no trees, a couple of artificial ponds. Greens were fair to poor. Better punch them, I guess. Bunkers were inconsistent and mostly just large with little sand. Mostly packed dirt. I hit off dirt in the fairway several times, and thought that I was in the rough while in the fairway a couple of times.
Someone said this is a Dye, links course. I still don't get it. I'd call it a potentially long, muni that needs better care.
To the good, they had drinking water available.
They need to get themselves together organizationally.
Recommend NMSU or Picacho Hills for better service.

I was in Las Cruces, NM recently for a family members college graduation from NMSU. During our 4-day visit I had the pleasure of visiting the Red Hawk Golf Club. I did not actually golf - but did spend enough time at Red Hawk to be able to drive around and view the entire course. As mentioned previously - this golf course is in a rather remote location (5 -10 minutes from the city itself) but the remoteness of the course is what makes it a 'little slice of heaven'.
The grounds are meticulous, golf carts and other equipment sparkling and every staff member who I encountered was professional, friendly and eager to make sure my time at Red Hawk was a true pleasure. Thank you Red Hawk (and your fabulous employees) for a beautiful course and I look forward to my next visit!
