This was just a pit stop while passing through to stretch our legs and take pictures, but it's a neat place. It's got great scenery for pictures, and the rock is cool. There's also a restroom and a nice picnic area.

This is one of the most scenic spots on the drive up from Albuquerque to Los Alamos. We loved stopping here, listening to the fast running stream and taking photos of the rock.

This was only a drive-by and stop for pictures for us. It is a unique rock formation, that is for sure, plus there were shaded tables for picnicing adjacent tot eh parking area, which was very nice. A rover runs right there too for an added bonus to the ambiance. Nice spot.

Not only a great looking rock but a fab picnic spot by the river! Also, go down by the river and look up through the leaves - especially red ones - for amazing photos. This is a must see/stop en route to Albuquerque the long (scenic) way round from Santa Fe (through the Jemez Mountains). Don't miss Soda Dam further... More

The dramatic scenery one sees in the Jemez Mountains is proof of the violent volcanic activity that created them and Battleship Rock to me is a perfect example of that geological drama. There's a picnic area down below highway 4 and also a simple pullout if all you want is a photo op,either way do stop and take a few... More

You can see battleship rock from the road and its massive. We couldn't get parking in this area, so we went and parked at the picnic area immediately past it. We hiked about 100 yards (easy hike) and were in a stream. Had a great picnic lunch and cooled off! The kids loved it! Be careful the rocks can be... More

Delightful place to view a,mountain peak made entirely of volcanic ash. Good steep trail to a hot spring. Lots of places to sit and relax. Many beautiful trees.
