This is a small space, packed full of things. There is a lot of history, especially as it pertains to the coal mining industry in and around Gallup. Nice stop, especially on a hot day

This museum is about the history of Gallup. It has a lot of items from founding families. The staff is very willing to answer any questions about the items or the railroad and coal mining. They ask for a $2 donation per adult.

A lot of history about the area and some more information on the Navajo code talkers that wasn't included at the actual code talkers museum.

Looks like a lot of folks have donated items to this museum. Would be especially interesting to locals. I didn't know of the importance of coal to the city

An eclectic collection of stuff on the first floor of what once was an old hotel. Admission is by donation. Somewhat interesting if you are into antiques

Virgil greeted me as I stepped inside this small, unassuming museum which opened in 1995 in the old Rex Hotel. Virgil pointed out the door was at an angle so it faced the train depot which was a major reason people visited Gallup. It was...More
